Klostermann chalet - hotel — Hotel in okres Klatovy

After trying several hotels in Šumava area some years ago, we are returning to this one as we consider it the best. We stayed there several times and were always happy. The hotel is situated at the heart of Šumava at the edge of Modrava village, from where one can start several trips by walk or bicycle. The hotel itself is old building very nicely build in mountain style architecture and inside completely renovated ten years ago. It is very kinder friendly, completely nonsmoking. Pets are allowed. Wi-fi is for free with good signal at the whole hotel. The hotel staff was always trying to fulfill all of our wishes (even that nonspoken). The hotel manager is really doing fantastic job. ||The rooms are neat and clean with wooden furniture, fridge and clothes dryer. Toilet separated from bathroom. The only one thing I miss at the room is a safe box.||The breakfast is reasonable. Not that variety of choices as used to be in luxury hotels, but it changes every day, therefore it is not an issue. The restaurant serves fantastic food. One can eat either on terrace with nice view or inside the stylish restaurant. ||The only minus is bicycle room as it is too small for the amount of guests bicycles. I am always afraid my one will be damaged. And it is not possible to lock one’s bicycle individually – all are in one room (all guests have keys from it) and there is nothing fixed in the room where one can his bicycle lock to. ||We are looking forward for...

We didn´t stay in Klostermannova Chata but we stayed in another hotel in Modrava and visited Klostermannova chata twice for lunch. ||They have a big terrace with a nice view. It´s nice place for sitting outside. But inside the restaurant looks terrible very untasty equiped the look of restaurant totally doesn´t correspond with the look of the rest of the cottage. ||But the food was just a disaster. Once it was OK, but the second experience two days later was horrible.||The goulash soup was 100% instant, really disgusting. Then I had a salmon - no taste from a freezer (even though it was included in the daily menu , which we then discovered that the daily menu is quite the same every day, they don´t change it much!), with side potatoes - old, dry potatoes and a sauce made from cherry tomatoes - really bad bitter taste. ||My boyfriend had a chicken steak with spetzle and an INSTANT sauce again, just a disaster dish.||But the main problem is that we had really serious stomach problems both me and my boyfriend after the lunch there.||Never...

Renowned "Klostermann's cottage" and its restaurant were one of the stops on our "Highlights of Šumava" with our friends from the Netherlands. They were very positively impressed with the rustic building facilities, friendly staff and a wide selection on the menu. Fried Camembert was for guests from "cheese - country" nowvelty and they were with the new cheese flavors very satisfied, beer Klostermann of brewery Strakonic they enjoyed to the last gulp ("... Klostermann is everywhere ...") and light lunch of fresh grilled vegetables with toast was also very tasty.||An extensive selection of wines, especially Moravian, in the local wine shop was great. We due to busy schedule can´t something to taste, maybe next time... We also needed to take advantage of the beautiful autumn weather for the next stop.||A beautiful view to colorful nature from the terrace of the cottage doesn´t need more...
