We stayed there in an appartment giving us a wealth of space and comfort. The beds in the bedroom were excellent, big bathroom, though only with a shower bath but with a window, and a big living room with two sofas and a kitchen unit. But no one will probably use the kitchen since a fine breakfast is included in the price. Maybe the only deficiencies were the lack of a soap holder in the shower bath and the need to close the windows in the evening in order to isolate the noise from the adjacent street. But it will not be a problem of the rooms in the hotel building as the appartment is located in a separate house, much closer to the border of the property.||||And in the evening you would make a big mistake if you didn't go for a dinner into the hotel's restaurant. The assortment of dishes is great and all for a very good price. We had there tuna steak, fillet steak, pork skewer grilled on an outdoor grill on a special "barbecue evening" and several other dishes. You may select sitting inside in an appealling hall or outside on a terrace, overseeing hotel's own park with a small fountain. And, what's more, all the hotel and restaurant personnel is very polite, helpful and pleasant.||||Not to forget, WLAN is everywhere, free of charge and dependable. There is also a possibility to ask for some wellnes procedures in a new, modern congress style centre behind the park. But we didn't make use of it, leaving each day for a trip in to the surrounding rocky ridge. A swimming pool will be probably finished for the next...
Read moreAs a start, I must express that this is off the beaten track. The city is depressed with many buildings not much more than empty ruins so the hotel shines brightly, being a revamped Manor House with the horse stables redesigned into smallish rooms. The design and landscape is well done with repairs to the water feature happening during our stay, which shows that they are intent on improvements. The room was adequate and had what was needed [no mini bar]. The bathroom again a modern renovation with everything that a tourist required. With the exception of my personal pet peeve - the plastic bottom of the shower - hate those. As we were in a large group, all in the Stables, hot water was challenged by everyone vying for the showers at the same time. Staggering this, solved the problem. Our two night stay was adequate and the staff did try their best. English was a hit and miss affair with the staff. Again this is not an area that sees many foreign tourists and has only the old Benedictine Monastery in town as a draw card. The greater area offered the best sandstone rock cities. Food was good with a definite bend to Health food. There is a health center on the property and they obviously catering predominantly for those clientele, not for hungry bikers. :=) And the local pub closest to the Hotel offered that best goulash soup I tasted on this trip. All in all, I would recommend a brief stay here if you were...
Read moreThe main part of the hotel, a sort of manor house contained just a few rooms plus all of the dining facilities, for breakfast, dinner and of course the Wedding feast. Most of the guests stayed in a group of cottages arranged in a semi-circle. I loved these little cottages, they had everything you could think of and were like little homes from home. The food in the hotel was quite exceptional in the quality and what was available, the serving staff were very friendly, most spoke English and they made me feel right at home. The wedding feast and the speeches took up many hours but the staff remained unfazed and always smiling. What did take me by surprise was that they had many large conference rooms, health spa facilities and even a swimming pool and this hotel was in a small town in one of the remotest areas of the Czech Republic.||||I would love to visit this hotel again, I really did enjoy staying there and not because of the wedding, it was a really nice place to stay. There were many children there as part of the wedding and the staff managed to cope with them too, full marks for being...
