obviously picked the wrong time to arrive, pilsen metal music festival, so space rules went out of the window everyone too close, fire risk not good, although we did actually manage to get out due to the fact the nearest tent left the day before us so we would reverse round the other tents and campers. when we arrived got the worst welcome since we have been travelling europe, young girl, not interested and even a few basic questions were received with a shrug, although as a family run place the waitress in cafe spoke very good english and so did who we thought was the mum who actually sorted a problem we had on arrival with germans wanting to save spaces for ppl who had not even arrived let alone paid. worst part was only being one fresh water tap, so we were told and never found another, using same hose for chemical toilet cassette, when i filled out first ten litre bottle to top up our van the water was brown and had to throw it away, took a long time for the water to run clear. got there in the end. cafe and bar really good aswell and showers/toilets very clean even with what felt like a million ppl with us haha. however all that said we would stay again, just pic another date when nothing was going on. so easy to get into Plzn bus and tram, found that out by walking outside and accosting a few natives who helped us out, no thanks then to the receptionist, hope she is given...
Read moreThis campsite is fine. Some have commented about staff, service and toilets. We found none of those problematic - yes, the young ladies in reception might have their ways, but often, it's just to make their lives easier. For instance, when we asked to stay for an additional day, we had to go back and ask about the day as they hadn't extended our booking but made a single-day booking for the extra day. It makes sense to the computer, but not always from a customer service sense.
The toilets were mostly clean and the showers, even though they had to be paid for, were good too. We try not to have czk in our armoury of European currency, so this is slightly problematic - we coped; making showers free is very common at other European sites.
Electricity requires a standard euro plug, not an IEC connector, so beware.
As for cost, it was at the more expensive end of camping life, but access and the adjoining lake offset that.
One poor experience was someone doing hand break turns and doughnuts in a carpark where small children were adjacent. I realise everyone can't be controlled, but one of the staff members knew the individual...
Read moreA great campsite on the lake 👍you can access the lake from the campsite 👍close to Pilsen which is beautiful 👍👍reception staff & owners all lovely & friendly, restuarant on site was great, lovely food, toilet & showers are lovely & clean & modern, the only downside is there are no cubicle doors or screen or shower curtain!!!! There are no hooks for your towel in the shower either, there is a towel rail in the middle of the room, so you have to walk naked across the room to get your towel!!!! It's just 1 room with 6 showers in, so if you are shy, then this site isn't for you! Which is a shame, because it's a brilliant site, Note to owners if you put hooks /shelfs and a shower curtain in the individual showers, this would be great. I haven't given you 5 stars because of the lack of privicy in the showers, but it's a...
