Pension Heřman — Hotel in okres Trutnov

Stayed at Herman from Dec30-Jan2 2013. I'd say it is a great place to stay for the money.||||Drivable distance to both Janske Lazny and Shpindleruv Mlin(25min). There wasn't a big variety for breakfast, but all food tasted good, coffee is not instant, bagels are fresh, there is meat sausages and granola cereal. Stuff is very helpful and maintain "at home" atmosphere. If you come to the restaurant for dinner there is a wide selection of dishes and the pork knee we had was delicious.||||Minor note to make, is that starting breakfast at 8am is not very flexible for those who want to catch fresh snow and start skiing beforeor at 9am...drive,park, rent, put skiing boots on...etc.||||Room was clean, light and and rather big, the only thing that bothered us was heater. We could hardly get the temperature in the room to rise above 20C (even with bathroom door open, there was a towel heater that actually worked better than the one by the bed). Think the best result we achieved was 21C and the worst was 17Cequal hallway, happened once at night, when both heaters stopped working for 3-4 hours. Our room was on the last floor, number 11. Possible the situation is better if room is sandwiched between the two floors, however the temperature during our stay has not fallen lower than...

we visited last summer (2014) and enjoyed a great meal; their garlic soup is unsurpassed, wonderfully garlicky, very very very good. I haven't been able to recreate it at home.||The day we went there was a very hot one, but with a nice tall Urquell life gets really comfortable really quickly.||We didn't spend the night, as we had a rent-a-cabin down the road. But friends of ours back home (The Netherlands) recommended this...
