Penzion 14 — Hotel in okres Trutnov

This place is situated in a tiny place called Hostinne which seems deserted except for a few shops selling plastic flowers.||When we arrived there was a woman waiting to meet us and the first thing she wanted was the money.||After showing us to our room which was on the top floor of a very hot building and no lift, she left the building and locked it. It seems the staff do not remain on the premises at all.||This woman was not able to speak English (except for the word ‘No’) The place is shown as a cafe/bar but there is no evidence it is ever used as this. The place is kept locked like a normal house once the staff have left.||There is no air con and there was no fan in the room which was very hot. To be fair, when I became ill with an upset stomach, I did ask for a fan and one was bought and supplied (I have added a star for this).||The bed was too big for the room so you banged your toes/feet on the ends as you went past. There was no central light in the room, only bedside lights. this I found inconvenient.||The bathroom was well appointed.||The breakfast consisted of some items of continental style laid out together with a piece of chocolate cake each. There appeared to be only two other people staying there but I did not see them. There was a male staff member at breakfast who was unable to speak any English at all.||When we left the premises this man looked quite agitated and he managed to mime ‘key’ so I gathered he was keen to get the key back. Rezervovala jsem si zde stůl pro 10 osob na rodinou oslavu na 12 h.

Bohužel výsledek této návštěvy byl hrozný.

Jídlo se nosilo po jednom, takže ve výsledku polovina stolu už byla po jídle a polovina stolu teprve na jídlo čekala. Nechápu, kde byl problém, když si jedna osoba z celého stolu dá polévku a obsluha automaticky neobjednávala hlavní chody, aby pak nedošlo k této trapné situaci.

Ve výsledku jsme konečně všichni dojedli po 13:00. Samotné jídlo nebyla žádná sláva, Krakonošův oheň, co měl být pálivý vůbec nebyl, byla to jemná smetanová omáčka a panenka s hříbky byla naopak zase pálivá a maso tvrdé.

Ještě neopominu tu situaci, kdy jsem hlásila, že si přineseme dort a zda to nevadí. Tak bylo sděleno, že s dortem počítají a není žádný problém. Při příchodu byly vrhány takové pohledy jako bych o dortu vůbec nemluvila. Následně jsem očekávala prostřený stůl a ten se až po našem příchodu začal teprve otírat, protože paní servírka si vesele seděla a nic nedělala.

A největší třešničkou na konec bylo to, když k nám pan kuchař asi pan majitel došel ve 14:00 zda si nemůžeme přesednout jinam, že neočekával, že se zde zdržíme tak dlouho, že má zde naplánovanou jinou akci. Opět připomenu, že jsme všichni dojedli až po 13:00 jelikož jídla chodila po jednom.

Za nás naprosté zklamání a už tuto restauraci zde nikdy nenavštívíme ani...

I stayed here after being caught in the rain during a cycle ride along the Elbe valley, and arrived drenched and tired. The hotel made me welcome. Rooms are large and well equipped and the bathroom provided piping hot water and a towel rail on which i could dry my clothes. The manager directed me to the only restaurant open on a Sunday evening, a charming Croatian pizzeria. The hotel was also good value. And breakfast was abundant...
