Me and my daughter stayed in room 212 on 17th August, a Saturday night.
The AC was broken and the room was very hot during the night due to the fact that it had been +34 during the day, making us not getting much sleep before our 900km drive to Belgrade the next day.
Basically the worst night I've ever experienced in a hotel.
The problem with the AC was relayed to the day front desk personell when we left the room in the afternoon to have dinner and she promised she would check it.
When we got back in the evening the AC was still not functioning and the evening person, said she was aware of the issue and the technician they had contacted wouldn't be able to fix it until Monday.
The hotel was booked out and no other rooms were available.
They would however speak to the manager on Sunday morning and give me a discount.
Sunday morning I asked again to the front desk person if the manager would be contacted and I was now told that the manager would contact me Monday for the discount.
The manager didn't contact me on the Monday as promised and I had to send several messages and a mail before I got a response a week later.
I was offered a 10% discount which I rejected and asked for a proper discount for the major inconvenience. A broken AC is not a small inconvenience like a broken TV or a broken minibar. I've been totally ignored by the manager since my message and it has now been a month.
The breakfast was also pretty meager with little...
Read moreVery good hotel situated in Jinonice, a suburb of Prague. The location is pretty good in the sense that metro station Jinonice of the yellow line is practically beyond the corner and in about 15 minutes you can be in the heart of Prague. For me it was also conveniently located close to the university campuses, the venue of the conference I came to. The room was spacious and clean with the aircon, which I didn't use and with well working WiFi. The breakfast was very good, a usual European mix of omelette, bacon, sausages, and pastries. The staff can be best described as correct-neither too forthcoming nor rude. The only issue I can point to at this hotel was the hot water in the shower which was available in the evening but not always in the morning. All in all Herrmes is very nice hotel and should I come to Prague in the future I'll probably stay...
Read moreWe've stayed in this hotel for the second time (for 2 nights). First we got a room on the ground floor which was quite noisy so we asked for changing it for the second night. The other room was pleasant without much noise (only planes flying above due to the fact that this hotel is quite close to the airport - which is also an advantage :-)). |A lady at the reception was helpful and nice, food (breakfast) was fairly basic (after 9 am there were no rolls, only bread) but delicious. Free parking space behind the hotel was also very convenient. |I'd recommend to change the curtains for thicker ones, add more pillows (they're too small) and especially solve/remove the noise in rooms on the ground floor if possible. |We're looking forward to staying in this hotel...
