This was our first trip to Eastern Europe. I had searched the internet carefully and chose to go B&B (pensions) all the way to help expierence the culture. Prague train station is large but we had met someone in our train compartment that helped us navigate it right down to the tram stop and the bus after that. Sparta Pension is in the North of Prague, in an area known as Doini Chabry, or Prague 8. It is in an all resedential, quiet neighborhood on a main street. Two streets behind us was a large corn field. There is a small restaurant in the pension with a good sized menu for lunch or dinner until 10:00. Reasonably priced. The bus stop coming from the train station is almost across the street and the one, going the other way, to all the sights is only about 200 feet away. The pension is only four bus stops away from the underground. Once on the underground, anywhere in the city is only fifteen to twenty minutes away. Limited car parking in driveway. Nice yard with flowers. The rooms were very clean. I believe that every room has it's own bathroom. The building has recently been fully restored. Breakfast varied from a cold meat and cheese plate to crapes to warm sausages and was always well presented. Always plenty of juice, bread and coffee, tea or water. The owner, Milo Diouhy, went out of his way to help us locate a concert hall that we had tickets for and helped us get there, loaned us a map until we got our own, and helped with many other things. He even took the time to teach us a little Czech. We gave him an excuse to practice his English on us. Directions: From the train, take the "C" line to" Koblisy". Then go four stops on bus # 162 to Prunerouska. There other buses at different times but #162 is the most frequent. There is an airport express bus that goes to the main train station which is on...

We had room number seven (windows out of street). The noise from the street was not too heavy. Furniture were old, but bed was very comfortable. Small fridge in the room was a bit noisy, but fine. Rooms were clean and there was service to clean them up during the day. Reception was very nice too. LCD TV save my day as there were sport channel and after exhausting travelling-day I was able to watch Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid Champions League game :).||||We had very busy schedule so we didn't try breakfast and because of that I can't say nothing about that factor, but they were included...
Read moreOn the plus side:||- rooms are ok (especially for a 1-2 nights stay), while being averagely clean;||- the pension's location is so-so, you need 1 bus and the subway to get anyway near the city centre.||||On the minus side:||- the breakfast's quality is abysmal (save your money and go ear breakfast somewhere else);||- the price is quite a rip-off for the conditions offered;||- the wi-fi's quality is poor, at best, while the coverage is very weak;||- the cleanliness of the rooms could be improved (there was dust everywhere).||- the furniture and fittings are, I believe, since the communist times, as they are all creaking,...
