PARKHOTEL Sokolov — Hotel in Sokolov District

The website really does not do this place justice! The tagline really does make you wonder how bad it was before.||Travelled in a group of 10- we had booked in for 2 nights but cancelled the second night within fifteen minutes of arriving. The rooms were small, musty and the curtains only covered a third of the window. They did not block the light in any case so many of our party were awake by 6am. The beds were only 6 foot long and the taller members of the group had an issue fitting into the bed. The place gave the impression that before becoming the Parkhotel it was possibly a nursing home or a sanitarium.||The rooms were not decorated as the website suggests. The restaurant/bar closed at 10pm. The food was edible but overpriced. The setting was okay- the small park it is located in gives a creepy Wrong Turn- type feel to it. We also worried that we were all about to disappear in the style of Hostel when they took our passports.||To the staff's credit they did the best they could given circumstances and language barriers. The reception became the bar area after ten and the receptionist was happy to humour us for a few hours with snacks, drink and turning on the karaoke machine lights (yes, there is one in reception which doubles as their sound system). Also the rooms were clean if nothing else. You would be better off staying in the nearby Spa resort of Fairy Cracken- The Grandhotel Pupp was particularly inviting after the Parkhotel.||||We are all...

The room was clean enough, and the location was pretty good. In the town there are quite a few nice places to eat or try Czech drinks. The unpleasant part was dealing with the receptionist. When I came to check in, at first she pretended not to see me, didn’t greet me, and just sat turned away (as I understand it, I approached from the “wrong” side of the desk, but she could have simply told me where to go). Then she said three times that she didn’t speak English. We don’t speak Czech or German, and she kept explaining things in those languages. Only when she saw we were getting irritated did she suddenly “remember” that she actually does speak English.

The next morning she was still at the reception. I came to ask if we could buy breakfast separately, since one of us is vegan and we wanted to check if there was suitable food. Instead of answering, I got a tirade about how we hadn’t booked breakfast (which I fully understood, but that wasn’t my question). As it turned out, there was hardly anything for vegans at breakfast anyway, which is why we didn’t book it, but again the communication was extremely unpleasant.

Wir hatten einen drei tägigen Aufenthalt im Hotel, schon beim einchecken war die Freundlichkeit der Angestellten nicht wirklich spürbar. Man hatte schon das Gefühl das jede gestellte Frage eine zu viel und man völlig unwillkommen ist. Das Zimmer selbst, sowie das ganze Hotel ist in einem sehr schlichten und alten Stil gehalten, was ja an sich nicht schlimm ist. Hier jedoch ist das Wort Staub wischen und Saugen wohl genauso selten zu hören wie die Freundlichkeit. Aber extrem heftig fande ich das ein Abflussrohr durch das Zimmer verlegt ist, der Spiegel im Bad schief aufgehängt wurde, die Betten und Rückwände nicht gerade an der wand sind, die Vorhänge an den Fenstern aus der Führung heraus fallen und die Fenster nicht voll bedecken, Kabel am Bett heraus hängen, die Becher am Waschbecken nicht gereinigt waren der Schlüssel zur Zimmertür einen Riss hatte und die Tür sich kaum öffnen lässt. Aber zum Höhepunkt in einer Steckdose ein Teil eines abgebrochenen Steckers steckte, welcher unter Spannung offen berührbar war. (Siehe alles die Bilder) Im weiteren haben wir die Sauna gebucht. Diese macht im ersten Eindruck einen Moderneren Blick und sieht auch ordentlich Sauber aus. Leider wird nicht darüber aufgeklärt das die beiden Whirlpool Becken nicht eingelassen werden wenn man die Sauna bucht, die vorhandene Dampfgrotte ist vollständig außer Betrieb und hat bereits ausgebaute Betriebselemente. Von den 3 Duschen funktionieren 2 nicht richtig und die eine die Funktioniert lässt sich nicht in ihren verschiedenen Funktionen einstellen. Ein im Raum vorhandener Massage Sessel hat offene herum liegende Kabel enden die im nassen auf dem Boden liegen. Zumal die Funktion auch nicht gegeben ist. leider reiht sich somit der Welnessbereich mit zu den Erfahrungen aus dem Zimmer ein.

Das Frühstück ist verhältnismäßig gut gelungen. Hier zeigt sich eine größere Auswahl zwischen Käse, Wurst, Brot und Müsli etc.

Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr ruhig im Park, leider aber sind die Zimmer so hellhörig das man alles vom Gang und den Nachbarzimmern hören kann.

Abschließend erwähne ich noch das für mich persönlich die Betten zu hart waren (Federkernmatratzen).

Die Erfahrung werden wir nicht wiederholen. Ich hoffe wir können hier ein paar Urlaube...
