First Camp Lakolk Strand - Rømø — Hotel in Tønder Municipality

Five days before our glamping family holiday booked mid-May for July, I received a cheerful automatic confirmation. Then, the following day, once we had traveled halfway across Europe for our break, I got a curt email saying that: « I am sorry to inform you that we had a storm at Lakolk with middle winds to 120 km/h. That means that we can’t accommodate your booking for a glamping tent as it is no longer available at our destination. And I don’t have any vacancies were I can change your booking to. I have tried to reach you by phone without luck. ». There was no trace of any incoming calls on my phone, and repeated attempts to call their helpline went unanswered. There was no storm in the days between the confirmation message and the final email. To put it mildly, and notwithstanding the fact that weather happens, this seems pretty deplorable customer service from a very large company (Too large? Too understaffed?)....

We wanted to cancel immediately after paying for two nights because they couldn't rent a bike for two days. A campsite this big only has three bikes, which is pretty questionable. Experiencing Römö without a bike was out of the question for us. Unfortunately, the very unfriendly receptionist and the manager were not prepared to accommodate us. They could have easily rented the site out at 5 p.m., which they explicitly did not want to do. They constantly referred to their First Camp chain regulations. Extremely unfriendly towards customers. We will avoid every Frist campsite in the future and advise all our acquaintances and friends to avoid this place. However, there was no interest in accommodating us with a refund. Absolutely bad behavior...

We spent two nights at the campsite on our Denmark trip. All in all the stay was good. The site is spacious and has direct access to the Wadden Sea. The sanitary facilities are centrally located so that they are quickly accessible. It also has barbecue areas, stove tops as well as tables which are available to the campers. A big plus are the showers, which you can use unlimited and included in the price.||||Let's move on to the points that the providers could improve.||Check-in took a bit long as the reception was understaffed and too many travelers arrived at the same time. The WiFi works very slowly, if it works at all. The cleanliness of the sanitary facilities could also be improved a bit.||||Nevertheless, we would recommend...
