Theives with old mattress. My partner and I traveled through DR for a month. We decided to extend our stay and booked Punta Cana Macao Guest House through Airbnb. We were staying at Hotel Millon Macao but I decided to go 1 day before our reservation bcuz we were looking forward to do some excursions with Eulises. We dropped off our luggage around 2pm. Came back to check in around 4pm. The room is small w/o ac but I was excited to meet local people and go see places with the host. We sat down and the mattress sunk 5-6 inches. At the same time very loud music from the liquor store that's about 150 feet away from the building which window is facing started blasting. I msg Erica. She came banging on the door. When I opened the door she shouted "you just complained about something that I can't do about!" She continued "I slept on the bed with a bad back for years with no problems and you don't even want to try it! " I said "Okay, we'll stay." She said, "No! Take your things and leave. I don't want any bad review! We have perfect reviews and you'll give us a bad review. Just cancel the reservation." I said, "Okay. I will cancel and you have to refund my money and I won't write a review." After I cancelled the reservation she said "I will refund your money if someone books this room for the weekend bcuz you occupied my calendar. You didn't pay me for tonight and now I have to disinfect the room bcuz you touched the bed." She didn't even let us get a taxi and kicked us out of the building. "Now you don't have a place to go." "We will go back to the Million Macao. They have big rooms and comfortable beds. We won't wake up with back pain." While we were waiting for the Uber, Erica's husband Eulises passed by and asked us what happened. He agreed that we should get a refund bcuz we didn't stay. Of course, they lied so I called Airbnb. Now I have to dispute the charge through my credit card company. I have photos and videos that I will upload when I get to...
Read moreI'm not even sure where to start but be careful when booking here.... We tried to book online through booking.com and shortly after booking they sent an email demanding half the payment...after some back and forth as they apparently only accept PayPal they offered up a random email to e-transfer funds.... at this point I asked for some sort of confirmation to make sure we actually had somewhere to stay when we landed and they weren't just going to take my money.... the person with whom i was speaking with decided to just cancel our reservation after being extremely difficult to deal with...looking back we are thankful we didn't go through with this as I'm not sure we would have actually had a place to stay and probably lost our money..any ways just be careful when sending your money here.... I question the authenticity of the other reviews as this process has been very difficult, unclear, and...
Read moreI had a great stay here with Erica and Ulises. They made me feel so welcome and really went that extra mile to make my stay special. From Erica’s lovely breakfasts every morning to Ulises showing me around the town, taking me to the local cenoté and even driving me to Bavaro last minute when my taxi failed to show!
The room itself was great with a huge bed that was super comfortable. I’d even go as far to say the best nights sleep I’ve had on my three months of travels so far! There was lots of cute extras/ toiletries and Erica was happy to provide more towels/ bedding / anything you needed! The locals were super friendly and staying at the guest house provided a super unique and authentic experience that you just don’t get in the hotels!
