I loved the resort. It was peaceful and not overcrowded, with just enough people around to keep it lively, but still serene. The employees, from the security guards to the wait staff could not be more accomodating and simpatico.
And then there's the glorious ocean and beach! Blue water, clear, and clean. The lifeguards are very vigilant, too. They're to be commended for an excellent job.
No pushiness at the Casa Hemingway. Food and drinks are available in abundance for the asking, but we never felt pressured. Prices are very reasonable and rhe quality is excellent. Off the grounds within a short walking distance are a few excellent restaurants. El Meson is the star, but it's not the only excellent choice. And there is a lot of variety!
Just about everything one could need is available through nearby local merchants, and again, the prices are excellent.
There is a small group of beach vendors who approach everyone. But if told "gracias, no" firmly, but nicely, they generally move on. To be fair, some of their wares are very nice, and the prices are unbeatable.
Our apartment had an amazing veranda which extended the entire width of the apartment, with an abundance of comfortable seating. I spent many nights out there simply enjoying the sky and tranquility.
So as not to mislead, I 'd be remiss not to mention that the resort, which consists of several buildings, currently is undergoing updating. So we encountered a few inconveniences, such as brief, intermittent blackouts (once while in the elevator). A new generator was installed during our stay, leaving us with no power the better part of a day. We were given ample notice, however, and made necessary provisions. Once complete there were no further electrical problems.
New flooring was laid in our building's lobby, which meant for a very minor bit of incovenience to me, but some are less tolerant of such things, so thought I should mention it. Otherwise, however, the interiors are lovely,...

They have a variated menu. Fruit juices are delicious! Not cheap, not extremely expensive (us$100 for a family of 4). Super calm waters - no waves. PS. If you enjoy snorkeling, this is not the place.
Pros:

Cons: food/drinks service not the fastest. the playground is not close to the beach, small, and not properly maintained. not the place if you...
Read moreGreat spot, found through AirBnB. Right on the beach in a quiet little town. The service from the bar and restaurant staff was not very good though. The food was mediocre. Mostly pizza and pasta dishes. The beach was incredible though and made it worth it. Private beach, calm water and was not crowded at all. The grounds, pool and apartments were also awesome. If they worked on the hospitality of the staff towards tourists, this would be alot more enjoyable of a place.
There's also a couple markets and shops nearby to pick up all the necessities. (El Playero Supermercado...
