We really enjoyed our stay at Casa Hemingway Hotel. We traveled as a family of 3, my husband, I and our 7 year old son. |We loved the character and design of the hotel, especially our room. The bed was so soft and comfortable and we appreciated the fact that there was a TV in the living room and in the bedroom in order to enjoy our evenings in with our son. The in-suite laundry was also SO useful(they provided soap with the unit) and we were able to order room service and have dinner on the table on the huge balcony with gorgeous foliage. |The main floor restaurant where breakfast was served was well laid out and we found breakfast to have an excellent selection of great food, the coffee was just ok, but the other drinks and food made up for it. |We also ate at Embarcadero where we found the views and location were unbeatable, but the food was just average. We would try it again if we went back though. Our favorite restaurant was the one on the beach, the service was excellent, the cocktails were amazing and the lunch menu hit the spot perfectly for our days in the sun.|We were here on Jan 1st when the beach was busy, but January 2nd when people had cleared out, the beach was so lovely with lots of sun loungers, tranquil vibes and the water was fantastic for swimming. |All in all, the charming rooms, good service and excellent beach make this a super solid choice, especially if you are traveling with kids, as the ocean is perfect! We would...
Read moreWhat a gem of a spot! This was our second time visiting Club Hemingway in Juan Dolio... but the first time we actually stayed at the hotel... and let me tell you, it won’t be the last. The place has a cozy charm and tasteful decor that makes you feel right at home. We stayed in a Junior Suite that came with its own kitchen (full size fridge, stove, microwave, etc), a washer and dryer (huge plus!)... and a sprawling balcony complete with an outdoor dining table and a comfy little sitting area to kick back and enjoy the breeze.||The service? Top-notch. Hats off to Yaritza at the front desk... Felix at the restaurant... and Juan holding it down at the beach bar... they all went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and well cared for.||Security across the whole Hemingway complex is buttoned up tight... so you can truly relax. The beach is just a quick five-minute stroll from the hotel... and it’s private... reserved just for Club Hemingway guests. There are five pools on the property (we only managed to stumble across three!)... plus horseback riding... fun activities... golf access... and even a charming little church on-site.||The breakfast buffet hit the spot... good variety... hearty flavors... and made-to-order omelettes. I couldn’t resist the mangu and salchichón combo in the morning... absolute comfort food!||Oh, and that bed? Like sleeping...
Read moreThe infectious amount of mosquitoes was out of this world. It was unbelievable. I was transferred to another room in the middle of the night, and it did not get better. I tried to make the it threw out the night. I was given even a electric racquet to kill of the mosquitoes. I was doing that until 3am. On top of that a pool of water accumulated in the living room from the air conditioning leaking water. My wife slipped and fell because of that. We had to wait until 9am to speak to a manager. At this point all we wanted was our money and to get out of there as soon as possible. Worsts hotel experience I have ever had. Thank God I contacted my credit card and told them of the situation, because they actually tried to process my payment. But where denied because of the call I made to my credit card provider. Avoid this place If all possible. And if you do stay bring “Off” products to so you are prepared to go to war with a swarm of mosquitoes...
