Club Hotel Silvestre — Hotel in La Hispaniola

Hello,||||I was a guest at the hotel from June 7th to June 15th 2019 in Room 304 (view from the pool - mini kitchenette) with my partner. ||||Service, Room, Food and Value = Excellent!||||- Relaxing;||- Comfortable;||- Clean;||- Wifi;||- Air conditioning work well;||- Hot water;||- The staff is amazing;||- The food is delicious;||- Good wine selection (not included - France, California, Italy etc...). Our favorite was Mouton Cadet, France;||- Safe - lots of security;||- The hotel is a short walk from the Multi Plaza (shopping center);||||A special Thank you to Angel David (employee at the bar and restaurant). He is the best employee! He and the Manager organized a special evening and a dinner for our last day.||||A special Thank you to Maria. She works very hard to make sure the hotel grounds and the rooms are clean. The staff works very hard to maintain the hotel grounds which is pristine.||||I had an amazing and memorable stay. The Nightmare in La Romana, That should be the name of this hotel. I got there@ 9 PM, asked to see the room first, they showed me room 105, nice, clean, I said ok, them they gave me room 302, when I open the door it was a mess, old bedsheets, dirty bathroom and the bed frame was ripped from the wall and the old mattress made squishy noise, I went downstairs, complained and asked to be given the room that they showed me, I told her it is very dishonest to try to deceive the clients that way. I was transferred to the room 105, I tough everything was going to be ok. Oh!! Boy, the TV did not work , the phone didn't work, it wasn't even connected. After complaining they offer me another room 301, here we go to yet another room, the bed frame was not ripped from the wall, I thought finally I was going to rest , yes old bed, old bedsheets, and dirty bathroom, i had to take a shower wearing sandals because the floor was slippery unce i open the water. All this garbage and they charge $80.00 as a premium hotel.

My advice, STAY WAY...

Made reservations based on website. Thought this would be an adequate place to spend a night before our cruise and a night following our cruise. Be warned - $25 cab ride to cruiseport. Staff was pleasant, but speak/ understand very little English. Walked into room and there was a lizard on the pillow! UGH! There was no bedside table, no chair. There were two beds. Period. Beds were comfortable once lizard was captured and removed. There was a TV that didn’t work, a telephone that wasn’t connected. Good wi-fi. Only one convenience outlet, and overhead light flickers when you plug something in. AC works. Two towels. Period. Two water temperatures - cold and colder. Pool area is nice. Restaurant very slow but food is good. I don’t understand how this hotel got its 4-star rating, and I would never NEVER...
