If you want to have the worst vacation of your life, this place is for you! I stayed 3 days in the colonial house (the best one in the hotel) and there was no water in any of the 3 days! I complained a lot and they always told me "it will come back in 5 minutes" and it never came back. I asked to be sent to another room, but that didn't happen. After complaining a lot, they moved me to a room and guess what? The room was flooded, obviously I refused the transfer, the room was impossible to enter, it was flooded. In the end I had to stay in the colonial house for 3 days without water, with dirty dishes, the plugs didn't work well either. In resume, a horrible experience. They refused to refund me, I asked to speak to the superior, who was not there and did not answer my calls or messages, chaos. To make matters worse, the hotel employees were collecting water from the pool with buckets and taking it to the restaurants, for what? I don't know exactly, but I found it curious!

Location 5/5 The beach is amazing and the sound of the ocean is delightful both day and night. There is no way to describe this experience with words. Service 4/5 Besides the breakfast which is really good, they only gave us only 1 bottle of water (16 Oz) per person per day and you have to pay 1 us$ for another bottle. (luckily there is a group of stores not far away to buy provisions at more reasonable prices, us$ 0.20 per bottle of water) The staff is outstanding, very friendly and all the time paying attention to details, really nice and polite people always there to make your stay as perfect as posible. Infrastructure 3/5 The building itself is really beautiful with a beach house style but could benefit from better maintenance, the bathroom's door lock didn't work, the ceiling fan was noisy and balancing all the time, the rooms had deep moldy smell, between other issues. Internet is really slow and it only works in some spots.

Beautiful beach, even in hurricane season when we went in September last year. People are wonderful in the hotel. Helped us with everything we needed. We were not happy with the rest of the island. Lots of trash, plastic everywhere, people were not very nice to foreigners. You would think that people would be happy to live there but they seem miserable and don't even want to improve. They live in filth and don't care about anything. We were overcharged with the rental car and very disappointed with that. The car expenses were same as our stay and the flight from USA. They wanted to overcharge us for road tolls . We don't think we will go there again only because of that . But this beach is a one time in your life thing so don't miss it if you can.

The place is a beautiful location. The beach is amazing and the Colonial Villa is truly unique. However, we had problem with the shower and the sinks. There appeared to be calcium build up and the water was not always warm. So it's not kept up as well as it should be. One of the biggest issues was on Saturday, our only full day at the hotel. There was a birthday party for a 4-year old that included many children and adults that were not staying at the hotel. They appeared to bring in their own food and drinks and it ended up being like a day-care center for kids. We couldn't use the pool because it was full of children jumping in with their adults. We ended up leaving for a while and walking down to a beach restaurant for some food and drinks. At 8pm there were still kids running around and when we complained we were told they were guests, but they did not have rooms at the hotel. I complained when we checked out and was only told well it's "high season" which made no sense to me. The only help that we appreciated were some of the restaurant staff who brought dinner to us at the villa and made sure we ordered what we needed when they were getting ready to close the kitchen. It's really too bad because my husband and I had visited here over 10 years ago and loved it so much we brought our adult daughter and her boyfriend with us this time. The owner, Maria, at the time was a lovely french women who cooked marvelous dinners. If we come back to the area we will visit the beach, but not stay here. Also many people did come to visit the beach and ended up using the lounge chairs of the hotels even though they were not guests. We were told that if they spent money at the bar and restaurant they could use the chairs. No really fair to the guests that were paying money to stay...

I visited Casa Cosón with my family for what was supposed to be a two-day stay. At first, everything seemed perfect the drive up gave us a great first impression. The staff were friendly, the beach was peaceful with warm water, and there were even friendly dogs around (though if you’re not a dog lover, this might not be the place for you).

However, things changed quickly once we got to our villa. As soon as we walked in, we noticed it was dirty and outdated. There was a strange smell, and the windows were broken, making it easy for bugs and even rats to get in. One of my family members opened a closet to unpack and found a large rat inside. Naturally, we were shocked and upset.

When we reported the situation to a staff member, he initially denied it. Eventually, we were moved to a different room, but it was very small and couldn’t comfortably accommodate our group of five. We ended up leaving the next day because of how uncomfortable the accommodations were. Even the parking lot had a foul odor, which added to the unpleasant experience and we didn’t get any refund whatsoever.

On a positive note, the beach view was beautiful, the masseuse on site was excellent, and the setting overall had a lot of potential. The restaurant on the property was just okay and felt overpriced for what we received.

The biggest issue by far was the condition of the rooms they were in serious need of renovation. If management invested in remodeling and updating the villas, this place could be a fantastic getaway. Unfortunately, as it stands, it didn’t meet our...
