This is a great typical local seafood restaurants. The prices here are as cheap as you’re going to find them in the area. They have a lobster, shrimp, many other kinds of local fresh fish, octopus. Perhaps a few more things I’m leaving out. They also serve chicken. It comes with french fries, salad, plantain, salad Or rice and beans. You can get your fish You can get your fish fried or grilled. It’s right on the beach there’s parking everywhere. They have some drink some alcohol. And the price is right. I don’t really like eating the shrimp here because they don’t clean them and one time I got sick but I still keep coming back for more. I recommend that you walk over to the frozen fish cooler and watch them weigh your fish so that you know you’re paying for the right amount.fried or grilled. Read moreThis restaurant epitomizes our Las Terrenas vacations: it is a hidden gem off the beaten path (in Playa Coson, about a 20 minute drive from Las Terrenas) right on the beach so you can go in for a swim before or after lunch, delicious food (we always get the grilled whole snapper, but there is lobster on the menu we want to order some day, we WILL be back. Oh, and did I say their beans are to die for, who says that about beans?!?) and consistently good service. We get there early (11am) as it fills up fast with the locals (always a good sign), pick out the fish we want from their coolers, then enjoy drinks at a table on the beach while our fish is cooked. When we went there yesterday (our 2nd time this trip), I asked to go back to the open air kitchen to see how they cooked their fish and they happily let me in. I saw three methods: fish directly on the grill, fish in foil on the charcoal grill, then another straight in oil in a large pot over a very large fire. I wish I spoke Spanish as I wasn't sure what he seasoned the fish with or what the technique was called for the ones wrapped in foil, but he was happy to chat.

Read moreDid not like the service. The food is ok. I cook and I understand good quality. The problem in this place for me was the lack of transparency and very bad customer service. The place does have a good reputation but lately they are not doing well. I spoke to Luis over the phone and told him I was coming. He is very nice but his people working the tables are just horrible. Perhaps I did not rub them well. I am Hispanic just like them. My problem with his restaurant was also the prices. They are a little high. I used to walk from Playa bonita to Coson just to eat. For me, it was about a 4k walk but I did enjoy it and was a nice thing to do for me. It is sad to see this restaurant going down hill. I truly hope Luis does read the comments and addresses the service standards in his restaurant. Coson and Playa Bonita is a little high in prices if you compare to the...
