Hostería Merceditas — Hotel in Aloasí

I stayed here almost by accident booking through Gulliver's tours, and this stay made my entire trip! The family who runs it are the absolute nicest people you will ever meet, not only making me feel comfortable but also giving me whatever privacy I need at the same time. They saw to my every need, and made sure my stay was absolutely enjoyable. The grounds were stunning- being able to see the volcanos while having breakfast was breathtaking, and relaxing in the gardens while taking in the sights was unlike any other experience I've ever had. I would absolutely book again without a second thought, whether traveling alone once again, as a romantic getaway, or even traveling with family. I love this little hosteria! It's a few miles from town, away from the lights & sounds, up on the hillside with views all around. Inside, it's super comfortable with a cushy bed, warm shower, hot breakfast and dinner available, and super friendly owners. There's even a cheese "fabrica" on-site & you can get a quick tour & take some home if you like. There's plenty of hiking to do nearby or head on over to Cotopaxi for the day. I stayed at the hotel this June for 2 nights. Everything was phenomenal, immaculately clean and superb customer service. The wine/cheese and breakfast (both complimentary were more than I expected).
