MATEOSPAXI — Hotel in Aloasí

Our stay with Aracely at Mateospaxi was fantastic! Our room was very comfortable with a great view of the mountains. The altitude here is higher than Latacunga or Quito, I believe it's 3,200meters, which makes it great for acclimating a well! The blankets were warm and she provided a nightstand and hooks to hang things on. The living areas were all very comfortable as well. The restaurant area is beautiful as well as the largest living room. Aracely made us feel incredibly welcomed, it felt like we were more than guests. And she helped us plan a number of items from our Cotopaxi tour to what we should do on our last day before our flight and how to get there. She also explains a lot of the tour and food options and provides it written out as well. We will always recommend this hotel to others because of how much they care about their guests and the effort they put into helping them. It's been a wonderful experience. They truly care about the experiences of their guests and making their time in Ecuador special. The neighborhood is nice with a couple small supermarkets and a bakery as well. There are also restaurants although we didn't have time to eat there. There's easy access to a bus stop as well whether you want to go in the direction of Quito...

Aracely is the best host you can imagine! We were stuck here for 18 days during the protests, but we had a really good time! |Aracely and her husband made sure we got everything we needed and more.|Our room was nice and comfortable and the common kitchen and living room are super cozy. At some cold nights we made a fire and it added to the great atmosphere.|We were lucky to have 2 dogs as our pets. Kaiser is super friendly and cuddly, while you need a bit of time to win Papito's heart. |There's a small supermarket nearby, as well as a little shop for fruit and veggies. |We absolutely loved our stay and enjoyed the views and walks around the village. If you follow the road to El Chaupi until it crossed the train tracks, you have a great view of Cotopaxi!|Also the hike to Mt Corazon is totally recommended!
