My family stayed the weekend after Christmas in the Hacienda Tomalon. We wanted to have a relaxing time after the craziness of the Holidays. We absolutely loved the change of scenery from the flat lands of Florida to the mountains surrounding the Hacienda. Julieta, the owner was extremely accomodating, they welcomed us and set us up in a luxurious suit for my husband and me, comfortable bed, hot/powerful shower and beautiful mountain view from our window. The girls were across our room which was great for privacy but close enough for comfort. They each had their own bed and enjoyed their own bathroom. They are 8 and 10 years old and loved to believe they were on their own apartment. The food was freshly and deliciously prepared, different from what my girls are used to but no complaints heard due to First of all, the room was huge and very comfortable. Loved the bed, it was just right.. Every meal was very well balanced. Despite the fact that it was the Christmas Holiday, we had a personal helper who lit the fireplace for us at night and was ready to help us with whatever we needed. We had a mini family re-union for 22 people on Sunday and were able to enjoy the seating areas in the hacienda as well as use the soccer courts and the fields by the gardens to play and throw frisbee around. On Monday we went to visit Yahuarcocha and hike around Cuicocha, which is not a far drive at all to see such magnificence.. They kept our luggage in the hacienda after hours until we came back to prevent us from driving around with them in our tiny little rental car. We definitely will be back to visit Tomalon. It is a perfect place to get away from the busyness of the city to enjoy...
Read moreThe Hacienda Tomalon is a hundred year old beautifully redecorated hacienda. It is ran by Alejandra and her family. Previously owned by her grandparents. We were welcomed. The hospitality and attentiveness of the staff was formidable and very professional. The food was home made and the chef made sure we were pleased with the meals. The cleanliness of the place has a high five. The room had a fireplace and every night Alejandra will come and turn it on for us, with our consent, while we were having dinner so that the room would be warm by bed time. The views around the Hacienda were beautiful including the view of the Volcán Cayambe. |I highly recommend...
