Mr. Fausto Rivera, is the best hotel owner/manager ever! It is rare that guests have such a gracious, accommodating host. He is a gem and the price was right. We arrived in Latacunga to attend the La Mama Negra festival the next morning. We were immediately told that if we parked our car in the Hotel's garage we wouldn't be able to get out the next day because of parade barriers. Senor Rivera arrived and arranged for us to park at his home, several kms away, instead. And there's more to praise. We were given the only double room with a balcony looking out directly on the parade route and he let us delay our check-out so we could watch the preparations from our balcony in comfort. Then he provided us with chairs right outside the hotel and stored our luggage while we watched the parade. After the parade he personally walked me back to his house to retrieve our car. There were huge street crowds and the traffic was tied up everywhere. We are indebted to Senor Rivera for his overwhelming hospitality. Other pluses: good breakfast included, hot showers, comfortable beds, perfect downtown location and a wide variety of rooms from singles to many beds. Read moreI had the pleasure of staying at Hostel Rosim in Latacunga and was completely delighted. The highlight of this hostel is definitely the extremely friendly staff. From the first greeting to the departure, I felt welcome and well looked after.
The rooms are simple but spotlessly clean and offer everything you need for a stay.
The breakfast was simple but really tasty and gave me the perfect start to the day. It's a great deal, especially considering the extremely fair prices. The value for money is really optimal and makes the hostel an excellent choice for travelers looking for inexpensive but good quality accommodation right in the center of Latacunga.
