Hacienda El Sinche — Hotel in Machachi

We spent an amazing week with Xavier and his family! The Hacienda and the surroundings are beautiful! We felt very welcome from the first moment we stepped into the door until we left after almost one week. |We hiked several volcanoes with Xavier, who is a great tour guide!! He showed us the local markets, we went horseback riding around the Hacienda, took us to remote places in the Andes...|We enjoyed our evenings when all of us prepared diner in the kitchen together, we sat together and talked a lot until late at night. All personnel is very friendly and helpful! The rooms are nice, cozy, warm and very clean! |The Cotopaxi is very close to the Hacienda, the area is so stunning!! Our daughter enjoyed the animals at the farm: the calves, the dogs, the horses and donkeys....and the nice playground! |We only can recommend Hacienda El Sinche to others! If you're looking to be transported back to 18th century life on a ranch in Ecuador (with all of life's modern conveniences) then look no further. This was by far the best place I've stayed at in Ecuador. The rooms, common spaces, yard - and even the multiple chimnies on the ranch have clearly been selected down to the smallest detail to take you back to a different time. The food, cooked on site and literally farm to table, is incredible and includes all sort of only in Ecuador fruits. But more than anything, the hospitality of the owners is what makes this place the most memorable. From them, you'll hear stories that date back to their own Incan lineage. And if you take one of their tours up to Cotopaxi or the surrounding areas, you'll truly understand the relation between the environment and locals and what it means to live off...

We spent one night here, in between climbs, coming down from Iliniza Norte and before cotopaxi. We had the best rest ever. It is a beautiful spot, super calm and exactly what we needed. The food was incredible, both for dinner and breakfast ! We would have loved to stay longer, definitely recommend if you are around or to spend some time away from the hassle and...
