Looking for relaxing?... This is definitely the right place and best choice!. There are many different hot springs around Papallacta but if you want a wonderful experience and enjoy it at last, you should visit the Spa of Pallacta Hot Springs, is a little bit more expensive but it really works!. The Spa is very organized, once you confirm your reservation or get in the main entrance you receive a towel, a cap and a key for your personal locker. The changing area is clean, bathrooms are separated with many showers, hair dryer and many changing rooms. Secure, clean and safe. Once you get your swimming suit and your cap get ready for the hot springs!...there are many pools, incredible located and surrounded by the nature. Be careful when you get I the pools, is warm and some are warmer than others, so try it first before you get in. Is nice to be in the water for a while but won't forget to keep your body hydrated. Is it cold outside the pools because you are in a paramo area , so keep your towel close and of course your sandals to avoid stumbles. Finally, is an incredible experience, hot springs are good for your health, relaxing and you may feel like new and also tired because of the hot water. The Spa also provides another services like massages and some other amenities. Food is expensive, really expensive I don't know why...but you can bring your own water , snacks and food if you prefer. Papallacta also offers many restaurants with many different types of food and less expensive than the spa, trout is my favorite! The Spa is near the other Pallacta Hot Springs but in the same place, the other springs are bigger than tha the Spa, less expensive, crowded and not with the same comfort as the spa. Is your decision wich one you prefer, both are wonderful in my opinion. If you want you can make a reservation in the hotel in the same area, this place is private and they offer a very secure parking lot. Maybe in holidays is a little bit crowded, get early or make an appointment!
One more thing that I haven't mentioned before, are the sporadic hailstones. This meteorological phenomenon is not often, but when it happens I recommend driving slowly or stop until the hailstone is over. Sometimes the route is closed because of the snow. So be careful when you take the Papallacta way if you're traveling or check the weather before your trip. As I said before, this phenomenon is sporadic ,and this is not a reason to stop visiting the wonderful...
Read moreThis is a lovely place with a good restaurant, wonderful hot springs and an incredible view. However! It is extremely high in the Andes and I had altitude sickness for the entire time that I was there. See your doctor before you leave home for a prescription so that you have what you need. Altitude sickness can be very dangerous for some folks. The hotel is great and I would do it again in a moment, just with pills this time. It is one of those once in a lifetime places...
