Excellent location, everything is close by, beach bars restaurants supermarket. Beautiful tropical setting! ||The resort is beautiful and very rustic with a cool vibe , the various hot warm & cold spa pools are fabulous! The bar is great serving tasty fresh cocktails and the food we tried was delicious! You can connect your own music to the bar speaker. The hotel staff are a real asset and very helpful, particularly the gentleman who works the bar and seems to be the handy man also, he was so friendly & accommodating! Always smiling! The resort has 2 dogs, Snow and Lila plus a gorgeous cat! Loved that! Very calm and lovely to have around! |We stayed in the 3bed Colorado apartment. |It was very spacious and the air con was good. We had a jacuzzi bath and hammock chair on the balcony. Also hammocks on the ground floor. WiFi worked perfectly! Tv works well but with a Roku fire stick. |The apartment was a little too rustic and was not cleaned to a good standard when we arrived. We also had very noisy neighbours that partied until 5am on our first night, we felt more should have been done to stop this disturbance. The owner did acknowledge the problem and kindly gave our group a couple of rounds of cocktails at the bar. The resort is relaxing most of the time, however from 8am there is usually heavy bass music playing & there is very little sound proofing so no long lies in bed here! However, the beds were comfy and showers very powerful! Kitchen and facilities could be much better. Oven didn’t work, no kettle or toaster and fridge kept freezing everything! |A few suggestions that would make this place perfect, a welcome pack on arrival with water coffee milk and some cleaning products, a bottle opener (we had to buy one plus cleaning products and cleaning items), BLACKOUT curtains!!!, there are bright lights outside the ground floor rooms that do not go off at night and very light weight curtains that are too small for the window preventing the room ever getting dark! Also as soon as the sun is up that’s it, a super bright room. It never gets dark. Bring your own eye mask!! And ear plugs!||Despite the cleanliness issues and lack of dark rooms we really did enjoy our stay at Montanita estates, it is a very cool unique place and I will certainly be returning and recommending to friends and family! ||Until the next time, thank you to the team at ME estates for making our stay one...
Read moreI liked the layout and beach-like feel of this property. The reception was by the pool and the outdoor restaurant and it was set up with just a roof with no walls which made it inviting and welcoming. The minute we walked into the door the smell of humidity was awful. I thought that maybe it was because it was all closed in so we opened all the windows and doors to air it out. The next morning I wake up with a severe sore throat and had to go to the pharmacy to get some medicine. I spent the whole day in bed and slept on the sofa that night with the door open. I could not sleep in that smelly room. When we went to have breakfast, they had just put a few chopped fruits in a cup and asked us how we would like the eggs to be made... very poor service and not enough options for vegetarians. So, we went somewhere else to eat. They need a bit of work and update the rooms. Keep it open so it'll stay fresh for when guests arrive. The exhaust in the bathroom next to our room made a lot of noise like it was broken, it was very small and moldy looking. They sent someone to fix it and never got back to change it. We had a full apartment so we used the bigger bathroom downstairs instead of the one near our room.||||A couple of great things: Great view of the sunset from the balcony of our room and away from the noisy streets...
Read moreWhat an incredible estate. The grounds are absolutely spectacular. The pool areas are gorgeous. There is a full bar and restaurant with excellent food and cocktails. You can charge everything to your room so you can save your cash to spend at the beach. (Bring cash, small bills) The rooms are beautiful, the bedding is luxurious, and the balconies with the hammock and the view are perfect after a long day of exploring. The hotel is owned by an adorable couple, they live on the property and are beyond friendly. They were super helpful and genuinely nice people. Ask Robbie where the good surf spots are, he'll be more than happy to give you directions in English or Spanish. The entire staff is AMAZING. They were ALL super friendly, and unbelievably helpful. They help you set up adventures, plan day trips, get taxis right to the driveway of the grounds. To say they all went above and beyond would be and understatement. This place is a gem!! All the rooms are named after surf breaks around the world as opposed to being numbered. It was a very nice touch. We will definitely be back next year!!! Montanita Estates is hands-down the best hotel in all...
