I spent more almost three weeks in Santa Manzanita, a small town 15 minutes south of Manta at the beachfront Intiquilla Hotel with the owners Naomi and Enrique. This is a quaint, boutique hotel right on the beach with the most amazing views of the sea. The Intiquilla has many wonderful amenities to mention. The tile floored rooms are immaculate, with fan, comfy beds (4 pillows), night stands, a big closet for clothes and giant windows. They include a private, tiled bathroom with endless hot showers, and a gorgeous outdoor patio with a swinging chair, table and benches. The rooms are cleaned daily and also have laundry service. They have a sweet little cafe where they serve the most amazing specialty coffees & teas (espresso, cappuccino, late, mocha, etc. -- hot and cold!), HUGE delicious, house-made breakfasts (Pancakes, French toast, Crepes, Granola w/greek yogurt, Eggs, Bacon, Avocado Toast, etc.), and cocktails (beer and wine too!) including the best Micheladas in the neighborhood! Perfect for me as a remote worker, they have Wifi in the rooms as well as in the common areas. The owners are not only attentive, polite, welcoming and professional, they have extended me trips to town for emergencies, as well as a full day snorkeling and whale watching trip to Puerto Lopez. Traveling to Playa Santa Marianita Manta Ecuador was a last-minute change of plans and a mistaken location. However, Ecuadorian Gods were on our side and we landed at this BEAUTIFUL and PERFECT hotel. Intiquilla Hotel was designed, built, and operated by a passionate young couple. My daughter, who has Down syndrome, and I were warmly greeted when we arrived. Our eyes burst with joy when we saw the lovely courtyard and amazing hotel. The beautiful rooms are spacious and the beds so very comfortable. Sleep came easily while listening to the ocean's gentle waves. This old gal slept through the night for the first time in decades. The room reservation comes with a delightful fresh gourmet breakfast, juice, and a choice of coffee. They also have a snack menu and other beverages. We enjoyed relaxing in the courtyard playing Dominoes and other games while gazing at the Pacific Ocean. The lovely owners helped us with Taxi arrangements and suggestions on where to eat and visit.
