Firstly I would just like to say that Villa DaFiore is conveniently situated near the Airport despite many other reviews I have read. ||We stayed here whilst flying back from the Galapagos and had only one night before getting our return flight home. We read mixed reviews about the locality but decided to risk it and I'm grateful we did! ||We got a taxi from the airport and he drove us round in circles for a while and then charged us more than he should have. He had to make a few phone calls to the Villa to find out its location. This was rectified by Patrico the owner who advised us we had been overcharged and got us some money back from the taxi driver. Patricio then booked us a taxi for the return journey to the airport which did indeed only take 10minutes. I would therefore advise you to book a taxi through the Villa DaFiore to collect you from the airport to save time and money. ||||Upon arriving Patricio the manager came straight over to assist with our bags he We stayed here for one night before our flight but we all really wished we had stayed here longer. It was a welcome break from the terrible service we had had in the Hilton the previous weeks. ||Patricio was once a new York chef and cooked us up a fantastic meal which was very reasonably priced. we had a look round and checked out the rooms which were both a good size with decent bathrooms and showers. ||We felt like we didn't have to do anything all our needs were catered for by Patricio and Oscar his 2nd in command. we enjoyed a great nights sleep and departed early on the morning after a light breakfast freshly prepared by the manager. ||||I have never experienced such customer care, both Oscar and Patricio were so customer focused and did everything they could to help.||||I just wished we found this place earlier and could have enjoyed a first class service at this hotel.||||I 100% recommend this to anyone, but book your taxi in advance via the...
Read moreI couldn't give this hotel enough compliments. It is a gorgeous villa which feels like you are in Europe with an open courtyard in the middle of a two-story Italian Style villa. Even my 11 year old son commented "this place has such amazing architecture!" The large garden is lush and beautiful, and it is located in a lovely suburb. It is really an oasis on the outskirts of the city. And the view at night over the lights of the town in the valley are really beautiful.||The owner / manager was so absolutely kind and welcoming. He made us feel like family. His English is perfect as he lived in the US for many years. He is such a wonderful warm attentive person and will make your stay very memorable. He organized a driver to take us to all the highlights of Quito (the equator, the old town and churches).||We booked this as a transit hotel between flights but would certainly recommend and consider staying here for longer if we were ever back in Quito. They are building an Argentinian restaurant on site which will make it even more attractive as a destination hotel.||This is by far the nicest of the 3 hotels we booked for our 3 different transit days in Quito. It is a really lovely small hotel not just by Quito standards but by world standards. Quiet. Peaceful. Close to town but out of the hustle & bustle. Well maintained. Comfortable. Spacious.||And for us (who miss our dogs desperately) there are a few very friendly dogs on the property which we all enjoyed playing with. ||I would highly...
Read moreWe stayed at the hotel on four separate occasions on our trip, in between jaunts to explore other locations in Ecuador. Each time, the owner Luis made sure we were comfortable, with tea service to our spacious room, plus taking care of any other needs we had. Our second floor room wiith balcony had an outstanding view of Quito and Pichincha in the distance, especially lovely at night with all of the twinkling lights. The inner courtyard has been planted with flowers that the local hummingbirds love, and there are more flowering plants, trees and feeders on the grounds of the estate. Breakfast and dinners in their beautifully decorated restaurant were delicious, and servings were generous. The taxi to the airport took about 20 minutes. Be sure to mention to the taxi driver that it is located in Chiviqui,...
