Beautiful place and very gracious hosts! The lodge has been lovingly restored and has very thoughtful and quaint touches—from an underground wine cellar, hummingbird feeders, a cozy fireplace, interesting art on the walls, and a beautiful outdoor area with seating, lights and a hammock. The hosts had fresh coffee and tea waiting for us when we arrived and my kids enjoyed the chess set and puzzles after a long day on the plane. The beds were comfortable and the views of Quito from the balcony were fantastic. We had a very early flight to Galapagos the next day, and this lodge was much closer to the airport than downtown Quito, and much more charming than a standard airport hotel. Look forward to staying there again next time we are in Quito!

Short drive from the airport after a long day of traveling. Great family atmosphere, extremely clean, cozy rooms, hot showers, and very quiet. We got massages on sight once we arrived, and food was delivered quickly for dinner (no restaurant but you can order food easily). Marcelo and his wife coordinated everything we needed from arrival to dropping us off at the airport. I wish we took more pictures of the beautiful scenery and accomodations, but we were exhausted. Breakfast was perfect before we took off. Would highly recommend.

This family-run boutique hotel is an excellent choice if you're looking for a quiet stay, fresh air, and spectacular views to recharge before continuing your Ecuador holiday. The location is conveniently situated between Quito city center and the airport. The hosts are incredibly hospitable and serve a nice breakfast. For lunch or dinner, they can help you order delivery to eat on-site, or they're happy to recommend a restaurant and organize transportation.

This was the beginning. Stay in stay of a Galapagos trip. The lodge is on top of a hill through horrible ruins in neighborhoods. It’s at least 45 minute drive from the airport. The driver is the owner of the lodge and will tell you it’s a 20 minute drive incorrect, lies, not true. Once you get in there, the doors are locked. The gates are locked and you’re stuck there. The owner will give you a menu, one menu, of a local restaurant he “works with”to order food from. You’re not allowed to get your receipt the owner takes care of it, and then charges you however he wants. Delivery fees may or may not be added, depending upon how he feels and he may say that the menu is last year prices after you get your bill handwritten bill from him., A scam. It’s very questionable procedures. If you order food, grab the delivery guy out front and pay your own bill. The food is so so with small portions and questionable quality. Pack your own. There are no set times for breakfast and or coffee. They will ask you, but then they will tell you and then debate the times so not normal procedures. They will tell you coffee and tea is available all day long and it is. But never in the morning! No one can make coffee in the morning. Plus you really don’t want your food in seven peoples hands prior to getting it very sketchy. no hot water., No air conditioning, several insects and windows open upon arrival in the room and in the bed. This place should be inspected by the government and Next tour groups that think about it. Never again. Only six rooms and they are new into the business and don’t have, any prior background on...

A wonderful way to end an amazing trip to Ecuador!|Ilatoa Lodge was cozy, beautifully appointed and furnished, with wonderful hosts, Rosanna and Marcello, their charming polite son, JoseMiguel, and their two delightful dogs, Millie and Luna!|The place is ideally located: fairly close to the Airport, yet not too far from Quito city.|The surrounding are beautiful, and the garden lovely, tended personally by Rosanna.|The breakfast was very good and fresh. Though they do lunch and dinner only by prior arrangement, Marcello was good enough to whip up a ham and cheese grilled sandwich for me, as I had arrived, starving, after a flight from Baltra. They also managed a simple but delicious and filling dinner for me, as I did not wish to go out.|After a month of travelling, the Lodge was like coming home to an oasis of calm comfort!|My room was charming, clean and comfortable, the bed a pleasure to rest in, the bathroom clean and well appointed.|The place has many charming touches which add character, like candles on the stairs, instead of lights, adding to the ambience!|There’s a well stocked wine cellar, and I enjoyed a glass of wine with my dinner.|An unexpected bonus were the hummingbirds in the garden, …|The garden also has a play area for children.|Highly...

Just returned from to the USA from a 2 week mountaineering expedition and had the absolute pleasure of staying here for 4 days while in between volcanoes. This is a small business run by a family who goes above and beyond to learn your name, your background, and what brings you to Ecuador. They were absolutely tremendous hosts. I'd equate this lodge to more of an AirBNB or VRBO rather than a hotel because the lodge in intermixed with the family's home, albeit separate from their living area. What I'm getting at is that this place quickly becomes a 2nd home to any and all travelers who stay there. The warm and vibrant living area is unmatched by another other hotel I've stayed at.

While on the mountain I was constantly thinking to myself "what day do we head back to Ilatoa lodge?" Because there we could rest in very homey rooms, count on a delicious breakfast, great atmosphere, and get away from the busy city and hard climbing. I was very sad to leave! When I return to Ecuador, this is where I'll be...
