Researched many hotels in the area, but my cousin recommended this at the last minute. He hasn't failed me yet so we took a cab to the hacienda which is about 6km outside of the center of town. Was greeted by hotel staff right away, who helped with our bags and guiding us to the hacienda which has an interesting entry. This is a luxurious Eco-Hacienda, the Deluxe King Suite was clean and spacious, with a massive comfortable bed, and huge windows. We explored the property and found some fish ponds filled with trout that you can fish and have prepared for dinner, tangerine trees and all kinds of other trees and plants. If you want to hike make sure you ask about Manto de la Novia hike.|The nights were peaceful, being away from the main roads, all we could hear in the distance was the rush of the waterfalls not too far away. The staff went out of their way to help us with any requests, and are extremely knowledgable with the immediate area as well as surrounding areas.|Will definitely head back to Baños as it was my favorite stop in this adventure and will definitely stay...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I stayed 2 nights at Hacienda Guamag and the staff their catered to our every need. The Hacienda itself is in a beautiful secluded setting across a gorge (you take a stunning 2-3 minute cable car to get there) - it's in a protected area full of natural beauty so you can walk around the gardens there or simply look at the gorge from the stunning view from your bedroom. As far as I know, I think they only have 3 rooms there and we were the only ones staying and the staff were fantastic - served great breakfast and dinner at their restaurant and we could text the owner or flag down one of the staff whenever we needed anything. They couldn't have been lovelier or more helpful. Thanks so much for a great stay - would recommend! One of our favorite places we stayed on a 2 week trip...
Read moreThis place is a gem! If you want to experience Banos, but without the chaos of the city center, you should stay here. It’s only a few minutes by car/taxi and the setting is so peaceful. You have to take a cable car across a beautiful gorge to get to it. Once there, everything is quiet and the rooms are very clean and modern. The hosts, Carmita and Marcelo were really kind and hospitable. They went out of their way to help us and give us a nice stay. Worth the price. Sorry...
