The wife and I with the two kids (7 & 10 years old) stayed here in May 2025 for a week. ||It wasn't overly hot in Egypt at the time but even still we needed to go up to bed for an hour in the afternoon as the heat really took it out of you. The Air Conditioned room was a real benefit. The room itself was fresh, clean and the dividing curtain between the children's bunk beds and our double bed was welcome because we didn't all have to go to bed at the same time. ||The gardens are something else. They are manicured and they are amazing with staff working on them constantly. It is beautful. It is a lovely resort to walk around. The only thing I will say is that I am never bothered by mosquitos but the whole family was eaten to death by the little gits and it maybe was because of the greenery. I am not complaining in regards to this but just advising anyone going to bring mosquito repellent. ||We were all inclusive and the drinks were pretty good. Pretty much everything you could want really.||There is an ice cream stall and unfortunately it is only open for a few hours at different times of the day. I think it might be because of the machines perhaps not being able to be on constantly. ||The food was good. I wouldn't good beyond that; I think there will be something for everyone though. The desserts looked out of this world but to my tastes there were a lot of cake based desserts and it wouldn't be my preference. There were different themed nights and when going on an excursion to the pyramids the hotel was nice enough to do us up a food package to collect before we left. It is worth pointing out that the wife and I did end up with 'Egypt bum' but I genuinely don't in the slightest bit blame the food for this; it's simply one of those things and if you Google it it would seem to be relatviely common. ||The slides are good fun for the kids and we were able to use the GoPro on them with no objection. The pools were nice and there was a dedicted pool for adults only. ||There are folks that will approach you to enquire if you would like services like massages or camel rides and these are essentially on site staff who I believe have been under strict instructions not to be too pushy. I found them all pleasant. I took up the massage and really enjoyed the experience. ||When you go down to the pool you can grab a fresh towl for the lounger and then hand it back at the end of the day and pick up a fresh one in the morning. Very handy. ||In regards to the staff. Wow, such pleasant people. Really very nice staff, so friendly. Really helpful. Great people. ||This is a really good hotel. I debated on whether to give the hotel a four or a five star. In the end I gave it four stars but it is probably 4.5. It's really clean and fresh. So well kept. Great staff. If you had to be overly critical I would maybe say the drinks and food were very good, rather than really good (but you can see I am nitpicking here). ||We didn't go into Hurghada as we were so wrecked after visiting the pyramids. On that point, we visited the pyramids and it was a 6 hour bus journey there. This hotel is at the north of the town so if you take a bus trip there you will likely be the last pick up and first drop off. We were lucky as we booked the bus trip there but in the end there happened to be only 8 holiday makers in the bus and 4 of them were us. I would recommend the pyramid trip to anyone. It was unreal. I was prepared for an awful bus journey but in truth it was nowhere near as bad as I expected it to be. But it does leave you tired. So much so that we wer so tired for the remainder of the week. As well as this we did a snorkelling trip at DiveMore the onsite diving shop, it was really very fun too and I would recommend it. ||I am sure you will be happy with this hotel if you book it. It's quote lovely as I have mentioned above and there isn't anything 'bad' I would say about it. I would maybe say if you're coming from the UK to perhaps brush up on your manners as the Egyptian folk are another...
Read moreDecent hotel with it's own section of beach. We stayed in a refurbished room which was nice. There were 2 single beds and plenty of room for 2 cases on the floor. The bathroom started to smell of backed up pipes during the second week. Wi-fi was a good reception in the room (Block 2), in reception and at the beach. There were the usual towels on sunbeds before 7am every morning, although there were still plenty of beds to choose from, even late morning. The toilet at the beach had a very strong unpleasant smell. OK beach, without much sand. The sea has a very gradual increase in depth, but bring some flip flops or shoes as its very stony. There are quite a few jelly fish, which do not sting. There is a bar at the beach serving soft drinks, beer and a limited amount of cocktails. Most of the staff are friendly, with the garden staff eager to say hello and the hotel manager walking round and speaking to guests.
There is a main buffet restaurant and an Italian style restaurant, which also makes burger and chips etc mid to late afternoon. The main restaurant has a Gluten Free Corner for coeliacs, that consists of some hard sliced bread and some softer, sweeter bread. The head chef is willing to walk round and show people what is gluten free each mealtime. Gluten free pancakes are available to order at breakfast time and also gluten free pasta and pizza at other mealtimes, although they ran out of gluten free flour after 12 days of GF pancakes each morning. If you are coeliac, I would watch them prepare your food, as utensils and cooking areas are not always cleaned between preparation of food containing gluten and GF. Although I never went hungry, I had many toilet visits in the second half of the second week and the missus (not coeliac) had a day in bed with sickness and diarrhea on the day that we were flying home.
The evening entertainment consisted of half an hour of kids songs before a singer arrived and and sang a few songs at the bar near the main restaurant. There were some other acts on near the Italian restaurant (fire dancing etc), we watched it one night and never bothered again.
There are taxis across from the hotel that will take you to Hurgharda for 10 Euros return (pay when they drop you back at the hotel), but they will drop you off at one of their "chosen" shops where someone will insist that they show you round (around the shops that they want you to go in). We told them that we were ok on our own several times, but they insisted that we were shown round. When we went in a shop that was not one on their chosen list, it we were discouraged to go in and our "guide" got angry with the shop owner. We told the guide that he could leave us to shop alone, but he would not leave. After spending some money in this shop (and none of the chosen shops), we said that we were ready to go home. Another member of the "guide" gang arrived and tried pressuring us to tell him how much we spent in the shop. The owner of the shop where we had spent the money had already whispered to us not to disclose the amount that we had spent as this could cause problems. While we were being escorted back to the shop where we had been dropped off in the taxi, more pressure was applied to get the spend info. We arrived at the taxi drop off shop and another member of the guide gang started to ask questions about how much we spent in the rival shop. When we declined to divulge the information he told us to go inside his shop while the taxi arrived. After we refused, he made a phone call and our driver appeared in less than a minute. The driver walked us to another quieter street and we got in the taxi. He started the taxi, but did not drive anywhere. When we questioned what was happening, he said that he did not want to drive because the car engine was cold. (strange, as we were his first customers of the day and he did not do this at the start of the journey from the hotel). We got back to the hotel ok, but be aware of the potential harassment if...
Read moreA tale of 2 halves, UPDATED: such a shame, week 2 is letting the whole holiday down, started off so well, hotel is well maintained, beautiful gardens, nice beach with jetty and ok snorkeling, nice clean rooms, lovely pools, good service, drinks were a bit hit and miss but is to be expected in a 4 star hotel in Egypt except for 3 exeptional bar staff. food was decent, even on the not so good nights, could always muddle a decent dinner together, most nights were good tho, al a carte resturants are exceptional, food is amazing and great service.
Then week 2 started, didnt get any busier, there seemed to be a national shortage on ice for the drinks and made in childrens glasses with very little effort except from 2 or 3 of the bar staff, its very hot and a cold drink shouldn't be to much to ask for, you got completely ignored by most staff in the evening for any kind of service, came across as just rude, im a big tipper and always have been in Egypt so not expecting anything for nothing, ordered drinks after tipping which didnt materialise! such a shame as week 1 was so good, really cant emphasise how different week 2 is, would have considered a return visit if it wasnt for the disastrous start to the second week, such a shame as is a nice place and with SOME terrific bar staff
UPDATE day10: and it just gets worse, lunch in the main buffet restaurant has turned into chaos, food everywhere, unsupervised children making a huge mess, the poor staff look run off their feet, and the amount of food people waste is unbelievable. people standing around and hovering waiting for tables, surely limit the amount of people who can enter at one time and organise it better, not sure what has gone wrong, on brighter note actually had ice in a drink today! Small wins!!
Day11: What a difference a day makes! Seem like somebody is listening? Lunch in the buffet was a completely different experience, well organised and not free for all! Seemed to be more managers around and no kids running around destroying the place! Drinks are also mich better, there is ice!! We are nearly getting back to week 1 standards! Again exceptional bar staff are saving the holiday!
Update day 12: back to normal, service around the pool has been excellent, ice has returned! lunch was calm and organised, staff still amazing, especially the bar staff in the lobby bar, exceptional drinks!, had a really constructive meeting with the hotel management about the issues we had last week, which they acknowledged,
Update day 13: still astonished by some nationalities in the buffet restaurant, I have never seen plates pilled so high and so much food going to waste, every meal seems like a banquet to some, must be costing the hotel a small fortune!. Service inside and outside was fantastic again, the 2x lifeguards at the relaxation pool are amazing, they really look after you and keep the pool and surrounding areas immaculate. And are very quick to chase any kids away!. Had dinner in Burger Buzz which was great, food was lovely and the staff were first class. All in all was a great day
Update Day 14: had a lovely relaxing day, great snorkeling in the morning at the beach then at the relaxation pool for the rest of the day, again thoroughly looked after by the 2 lifeguards and bar staff, ate in the Dolce Vita which was one of the best meals ive ever had! Really spoilt us!, big show in the evening which was very entertaining and a good disco after, really good end...
