I had a pleasant three night stay here. Some areas are looking a little dated now and could do with an uplift but if you’re looking for good facilities and decent sleep, convenient for the airport, then it’s worth considering. As soon as I arrived bags were taken care of and I completed the fast and friendly check in process. I’d certainly recommend booking a pool view, rather than city view room, since it provides a far more relaxing experience and, depending on the side of the hotel you’re allocated, a chance to see a lovely sunrise too. The room was a little dated and felt like a refurb would be well deserved. This was particularly the case with the bathroom. The area was spacious enough but things like the shower head over the bath could do with modernisation, and the general decor was looking somewhat tired. There were enough towels but unfortunately the shower gel never got restocked during my stay, despite housekeeping service being good and always returning if the ‘do not disturb’ sign had been displayed. The power of the shower was good though and it remained hot, as well as a hairdryer and make up mirror all being present as you’d expect. The main room area was comfortable and would provide a good base even for an extended stay. There was plenty of space plus the bed was large with a separate armchair and table. There was an electric socket beneath the bedside table as well as a mini bar (although no alcoholic drinks inside) and a digital safe. Plenty of wardrobe space with lots of hangers present along with ironing board. It was nice for a couple of bottles of complimentary water to be left each day and tea / coffee facilities were present. Plenty of restaurants are downstairs, lots of entertainment provided and facilities, but you’re left to discover and work everything out for yourself. It may have been the case that all the information was provided through the TV, but I never did find the remote control in the room so it remained unusable for me. The small balcony behind the sliding door was nice, although you can do nothing more than stand and from the pool below you could see housekeeping ensured they were kept clean each day. It was a shame however that the same attention to detail wasn’t there for the rest of the room - a large amount of ‘dirt’ which had fallen from a ceiling vent in the bathroom was left for a couple of days. The air conditioning was rather noisy, but fortunately some of the most effective I’ve ever had in a hotel. Clearly one of the main features for the hotel is their outdoor pool. Although not overly large is was a delight to use! The circular design is split into halves, one shallow and the other deep designed for proper swimming. The water remained warm and a member of staff kept monitoring throughout the day. Surrounding the pool there’s lots of seating, both sun beds and seating with tables. There’s a good number of trees along one side providing shade if desired, as well as a number of umbrellas. Getting the attention of staff for towels was a little hit and miss, again hampered by the lack of any information regarding how the operation worked. There is an outdoor bar where you can eventually get service from to the sun beds. Unfortunately there’s no menus for food or drink and there was a bit of a language barrier with some staff which made ordering a little tricky at times. However, bottled drinks were served in an ice bucket along with plentiful nuts and crisps, which was great. One point to note is that the wifi around the pool is terrible, practically unusable. Overall I had a nice stay here, with the outdoor pool area being the main positive. With a bit more made of the bar and service, along with making the wifi as stable outside as in the rooms, it could be everything you’d desire. The room was a little more disappointing, looking a bit tired and lacking some high end features. At least it was comfortable and gave a good night’s sleep though. If I needed a stay close to the airport again, I’d probably stay here again.

Arrived at the hotel Concord Alsalam in Cairo at 2 pm there is no available parking or a valet service . The valet showed up after i had about three rounds in the parking area . When the key was recieved at 6:44pm , car charger was stolen and never again found! Unfortunately,no one was there to take our luggage at arrival from our cars at check in . So I dropped off my 3 children with the luggage to carry in on their own. Since I have made my booking online I was transferred to the 2nd floor reception where I started facing serious number of discrimination issues . It started by refusing to give me the room unless I Sign Over a form to waver the right to use the hotel facilities and my right to wear a burkini swimsuit ( attached a copy of the form). I asked to be refunded and they refused to refund me as well saying that this is a problem between me and Expedia. I asked for the manager - Medhat -said that he is aware that he is not applying the ministry of tourism’s rules and that he is aware that this action taken against our reservations and better sign otherwise I won’t get the room also no refund which would also mean I pay for the full 2 nights through them and get refunded from Expedia and no room is available for me !!! Because of these reasons , I ended up sign the disclaimer of not using the facilities as if we are diseased in our Muslim swimsuits and was pressured to sign over my right to use the facilities . When it was time to get my room for a family of 4 , they decided to give us one queen size and one single. When I brought it to the attention of the receptionist Esraa , she said the reservation stated only 3 people . We argued on the fact that I have put 2 children and 2 adults and even though she was quiet aware that I was correct , She said the system doesn’t see the 9year old as a person who would require a bed (. How idiotic is that reply). So I asked if that means the particular child doesn’t get a chance to sleep on a bed ! It took them about an hour to place us in an appropriate room by 3:15 pm which is One hour and fifteen minutes after arrival . We had lunch at the Italian restaurant unfortunately the cups for the water had too many finger prints , the staff was quiet loud even though we were the only customers in the restaurant . The food was eatable but nothing great they gave me a vegetable soup and called it ministoroni , pasta sauce was not much on the pasta but the pizza was good and let us leave it at that ! I thought at some point during our stay someone will get back to me for the stolen charger however it was totally ignored even though it was reported to the reception and the manager on shift ! The next day I leave the room with around 10 and returned to my room at 3pm to find them just about to start cleaning , I was surprised since a request to clean the room was at the door. The cleaners didn’t want to leave the room , but I needed to get ready to go out again. In the evening , we made a delivery order in the evening since the food experience was not memorable enough to try again , it is always allowed at any hotel in Egypt. The racist behavior continued and they wouldn’t let the delivery man into the gate and wanted him to drive out of his way an extra 10 km . Of course once we contacted the reception we told them the situation and they told us that they will get approval from the management , I waited for over 10 min and no on returned our call , Medhat who was there refused to get the order in and I had to drive with my children knew the file le for us where we were to meet him at the reception . I am quiet surprised that any hotel as such would be on Expedia. I can’t wait to leave this place. What saddens me most is that I am discriminated against in my own Muslim country for wearing my swim suit! Attached a copy of the Arabic disclaimer to waver rights to use the facilities for Hejab wearing Muslims

A great location hotel. Close to lots of amenities via uber/taxi. Note that they don’t allow you to walk off hotel grounds - you must leave by taxi I guess for your safety. Ubers from here are cheap (e.g a 45min drive to the pyramids costed £5.50). I booked room only - Upon arrival they take a deposit of £10,000 Egyptian pounds (£200gbp) I didn’t know this until I arrived, this is if you order food or damages. You aren’t allowed to bring food or drinks from outlets outside the hotel which is a tad annoying. The rooms were clean but do need upgrading, the decor is very much 2003 and needs modernising. The bed is extremely uncomfortable as it’s very firm, pillows are softer. The bathroom is functional but again needs modernising and small touch ups like new grouting etc. for a city hotel it’s good as the pool area is small and clean, not much evening entertainment but you must remember it’s not like being on a beach resort. Food was okay on site but I ate out a lot for more of a cultural feel. Staff are very friendly and helpful, shuttle service to the airport is efficient. Very clean gym and good amount of equipment. Overall 6.5/10

So i must preface this by saying that if you're not Muslim you may enjoy it slightly more than my family. The breakfast was ok, it was pretty much the same stuff every morning (omelets, cheeses, falafel, fool etc.) The rooms were a little outdated but we didn't expect much. The gym was very low grade but it's not like they even cared to up keep it. Here's what made my experience there so horrible. It was the day my family and my brother's family decided to go into the pool. My wife and sister in law both wear hijab, and for the pool they were wearing the hijab swimwear (burkini). It wasn't loose nor was it cotton. My son and nephews were wearing these t shirts made for the pool because the sun was very strong. As we got into the water, a hotel rep approached us and initially said the kids can't have t shirts on. When asked why, he just replied with "that's our policy". When I told him that it's not cotton and made for water, he didn't seem to care (or know the difference) and said sorry those are the rules. So i told him i'm not going to subject my son to harmful rays because you and your hotel are ignorant to the difference between cotton and swim material. Then the man returned and told me the woman can't go in covered!! That's when i was COMPLETELY TAKEN BACK. I asked him why and again he said "policy". I again explained it's not cotton so you can't say it'll clog your filters, nor will the colors bleed, but again he didn't care...so i ignored him and told him to get a manager. The first manager explained to me that maybe the women would "enjoy their time sitting on the lounge chairs", but if they want to use the pool, they cannot be covered. That's when i lost it. I said I can't believe that in America and the beach resorts (sharm and hurghada) they can be in the pools and no one will say a thing, but in the capital of an ISLAMIC country, you're going to discriminate against them for their religion? (side note the manager challenging us was also Muslim) They stated they are not saying our wives can't go in the water because of their hijab, they just can't be covered (which is what hijab is!!!!) After a lot of back and forth we said we're not getting out of the pool until the manager eventually walked away and left us alone. "Ironically" 5 minutes after he walked away, a pair of maintenance men came and started working on the pool. By night time, the pool was empty (could be a coincidence, but when have you seen a hotel EMPTY THE POOL?!?!?) Here's when things got worse. When we returned from horseback riding, my brother was locked out of his room. His wife and kids were dead tired and forced to lay down in the hallway until we can figure out what happened. When we went to the front desk, they told us that they "thought" he checked out. Words can't even begin to describe how confused i was that they check him out but I was fine even though we had the same reservation. We had a reservation for a future date because we were going to a resort and coming back to the same hotel before we fly out to America. They told us those reservations "disappeared" and they were booked solid and couldn't accommodate. (the lies continued, if you called the hotel, you could reserve a room for that date). So my recommendation is do not stay at this hotel because it's not worth it, but if you're Muslim and wear hijab, they will give you absolutely no respect. They are condescending and rude once they find out you are Egyptian. Their goal is to have half naked women walking around their pool and don't want dirty covered up Muslim woman ruining that image. I have no respect for this Hotel or their policies and I hope this review has shed some light to the kind of people you may be...
