Overall we spent a great week at the Carols Beau Rivage.|Pros:|- amazing, stunning beach, couldn't get enough of it|- food was great. At first it might seem like the restaurant is not the biggest but you get all the standard choices, for breakfast we loved the freshly made eggs, falafel and pancakes. For dinner you always have a choice of chicken, beef and fish + always an extra choice like lamb, tuna etc + lots of delicious veggie options|-staff was pleasant and helpful |- location is great if you want to go to Cairo, Alexandria, Siwa Oasis - much closer than Hurghada, Sharm, Marsa alam|- room was very spacious and had a partial sea view|-area of the hotel very green and well kept||Things to note if you're going there:|- bottled water- you only get 2 big bottles of water per day, in the beach/pool bar you can only use a dispenser. I would feel a bit better with being able to ask for small water bottles at the bars.||- constant need for tips- i understand this is somewhat normal in Egypt having been there 9 times already but i feel like you can feel it more in this hotel. Having drinks brought to you at the pool/ beach in glasses is only reserved for people constantly tipping. Otherwise you will have to go get the drink in a paper cup at the bar.||- animations - not sure if this was connected to the fact that the hotel was about to close in 2 weeks however evening animations were pretty much non existent. The animators Tiger and Mo tried their best to engage people during the day with sports and activities, and did a lot of dancing at nights. They really tried their best and were really friendly, however i feel like evening animation program was an absolute mess. Kids disco was supposed to start at 8 according to the animation schedule, followed by evening program at 9. In reality, mini disco always started at 9 and then there was an older gentleman singing the same songs every single day- sang so badly, half of the people waiting for the actual show left by the time he finished. We waited for a fakir and fire show and then were told it's not going to happen because there is not enough guests waiting, when half of the people left because they didn't want to listen to the singing! Out of 7 nights we stayed at the hotel, there were only 2 days with actual night shows. I feel like it would have been better if it was clearly communicated that there is no evening animation on certain days, instead of making people sit through the really bad singing, ultimately waiting for nothing.||-for people with children/expecting to find fast food items in the main restaurant - fries and pizza is available only next to the pool bar during lunch time. There are also salads and fruit. I would appreciate a sweet option, a croissant or pastry to...
Read moreWorst vacation ever. The only good thing about this Hotel is the location nothing else.
If there is an option to give less than one star for cleanliness I would have given it.
Here is a list are of sanitary issues to show how disgusting this place is: 1- Elevator had blood on the wall 2- Bed sheets were not changed from previous guest. 3- Bath towels has rust 4- They re-fold unclean towels that you leave on the ground to be replaced, to make them look new. 5- They re-use laundry bags from a guest to another. My room had a bag with someone’s name on it?!!!! 6- Shower and Sink drains are clogged. They are filled with hair from previous guests. The reception says that it is normal to have hair in the drain?!!!! 7- Watch for the Mold in the shower walls (health risk) 8- Pool towels don’t get washed, just dried and folded to be re-used?! You will find pizza and food stain on it before you even sit on it. 9- Food quality is way below average for a 5 star all inclusive hotel. 10- Iron is not allowed in rooms for Guest’ safety?!! I thought they were being sarcastic when they said this, but it seems this is their rule!!! I felt they live in another planet than earth?! 11- Leaving the property, they complained that one out of 6 rooms was missing one towel?? This towel was taken in the room from the day before by their housekeeping!! FYI, our reserved 6 rooms, total of 12 people. 12- Last but not least the hot Tub (jacuzzi) is not HEATED!!!! LOL!!! So, why do they even have it?! 13- WIFI network exists but no internet connection anywhere!!! They have the invention called WIFI but no access to it!!
Just to make sure they don’t respond and say that everything I said is not true, I have attached some pictures to support my review.
To be fair, I have to acknowledge one of the managers on the property, Mr. Nazem. He went above and beyond to accommodate my family and me and tried his best to fix whatever problems we face.
We stayed at Carols for 6 days from 6/13/2024 to 6/18/2024.
Rooms 3305 3306 3307 3314 3315 3407
This place is way overrated and overpriced?! There is no way on earth this hotel is a 5 star?!!! Hotel stars should be re-evaluated by both departments, Health and Tourism. This hotel is giving a very bad impression to guests about...
Read moreI spent eid el fitr vacation (may 2022) It was still a little bit cold and windy
My opinion: The hotel is placed on obbayed beach which is one of the most beautiful beaches in matrouh
The hotel is 45 minutes away from matrouh down town.. you need to have a car to be there or you can spend all time in the resort(as we did)
Rooms are very elegant, decorated on (jungle theme). We felt as if we are in a forest,, very cheerful designs.. rooms are spacious and lovely They add a scale on each room (I don’t know why) if you are obsessed by your weight,, you will like it 😩
They have big problem in kids policy.. as my kid is over 12 years old,, he must be in separate room with his younger sister.. i asked for connected rooms.. when I arrived the rooms were not connected and we had to go through both rooms to borrow tooth paste and brush 😬😬
Rooms view is nice. Don’t pay extra for sea view because it doesn’t make big difference
Beach was extremely nice .. it was cold but we couldn’t resist it 😌. Pool is so big and clean however water was cold as well. They have indoor heated pool. It’s tiny but we enjoyed our time there.. burkini is allowed every where
You can play bing pong (table tennis) beach volley ball or football on the sand.. they were really fun
A small kids area is available but we didn’t need it. The gym closes at 7 pm so we didn’t try it but we did our sports on beach 🏖
Room service is perfect, they provide you with water bottles (big size) every day so we didn’t need to buy any.. bathroom contains low quality soap on dispensers on both 🛀🏻 and sink .. but i will respect this if they do it to protect our environment from plastic 👌
Towels are available on beach and pool but take care you will pay 200 LE if you lost any card 😇
Food is medium. Varieties are not bad and all tastes good. The problem that it’s closed buffet and you must wait for a chief to serve you. So you may wait alittle
I liked the hotel and I enjoyed the vacation so much At the end of my stay,, I discovered that my little daughter wrote a thank you letter to the manager 🥰 i was happy that she enjoyed her time..
No wifi is available anywhere
Thank...
