Grand Siwa Lodge is a smaller lodge with about 10 houses, surrounded by a traditional Siwan-style wall with a wooden gate entrance. The location on a hill outside the town offers stunning views of Siwa, with Cleopatra Hot Springs and Plato just a 10-15 minute walk away, perfect for sunsets and sunrises. The management, with Canadian ties, was incredibly helpful for us as inexperienced travelers, assisting with arranging taxis, tours, and navigating the local vendor culture. Evenings at the central fire were a highlight, with free tea, Egyptian music, and conversations with travelers from around the world. The staff were cheerful and provided excellent service, with delicious breakfasts and dinners. Rooms were warm in winter thanks to heating systems, but the water was summer water—not hot but rather warm, which was a slight inconvenience.
