Watch out for Abdul!! He doesn't own the hotel but he stopped us in the city center in the morning and offered us 2 nights for great price. Later in the evening we were told by a hotel manager that our room is booked for the next night and we need to change room to a tent. It was January and 7 degrees in the night so we said we won't do it. Abdul said he knew about it but forgot to tell us. Now I think it was planned by him from the beginning. In the end we had to look for another hotel for our 2nd night in Siwa. Quite disappointing. The hotel manager said it is not the first time he has had problems because of Abduhl.
We got refunded for 1 night though and were dropped by the new hotel. Be careful and always have an online booking!
Place overall is very pretty and looks like in a fairytale. In the night there was a loud party with music and dancing so if you're sensitive to that you might have troubles falling asleep.
Water in the shower was not hot but warm. We were cold in the night and our AC didn't work. Wifi in the room...
Read moreAbsolutely loved our stay at Ali's camp. From the moment we walked in, we felt at home and like part of the family.
The location is great, a little bit out of town so will need a bicycle or tuktuk to get you into town.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. Water was slow to warm up in shower.
The hot springs in the camp is one of the highlights. We spent a lot of time there.
General great atmosphere there, and the staff are more than helpful. From juices, Shisha, advice about what to do and all that we required, they helped out.
There is a mountain next to the camp which is perfect for a walk. Great views for Sunrise and sunset.
The puppy they have, Cookie, is the star of the show. He is adorable.
The price is a little bit high for the food. The room price was OK. They ask for 350egp for a chicken meal for dinner (which is high) and 550egp for two in a double room. We ate in town most nights.
Would definitely stay...
Read moreThis is a beautiful and quiet camp at the foot of Dakroor Mountain with lots of tables, chairs and flowers and greenery. A simple, but tasty Egyptian breakfast comes with the room cost. The room was clean, with a comfortable bed and good AC, which really helped in this terrible heat! The private bathroom had hot and cold water, though the toilet had a weak flush, but this is a common feature of many Egyptian toilets, especially in Siwa. The toilet paper holder was broken, so it would be nice if they could replace this next time. The bathroom had 2 new toilet paper rolls and a new bar of soap. There was also an electric kettle in the room. The only negative aspect is the very slow internet speed. You have to stay outside in the common area to use it. Internet and cell phone coverage are non-existent in the room itself. The staff are very pleasant. Overall, I'd stay here...
