Paradise in Dahab - not just a name.
Let me just start by saying if I could give this place six or seven stars I would. From the moment we entered this paradise everything was just perfect.
Staff
Led by Nermin, every single member of staff was friendly, helpful, professional and kind yet completely unintrusive. Over the course of the week we found that they had come to understand our routines and anticipate our needs without even having to ask. Honestly, the staff at the hotel make the place and their service is exceptional by every standard.
Rooms
Tastefully furnished and very comfortable. Some might say the rooms are a little small but there is a generously sized balcony attached to each room plus the poolside and grounds so we never felt this was an issue. The rooms are extremely clean and well serviced with fresh towels every day and everything in the rooms is well maintained.
Pool/ Grounds
The layout is just gorgeous and the photos shown hardly do it justice. It is like an island of peace and serenity. The pool is cleaned everyday and everything around it maintained well and very comfortable. There are also several nice seating areas around (fire pit, deck chairs facing the sea and Bedouin tent), giving you an added sense of privacy. The grounds are simple but kept in great order.
Food/ Drink
Excellent! While the place is not famed as a restaurant they offer delicious and quite diverse food throughout the day. Everything is very clean, freshly prepared and tasty. Breakfast in the morning is buffet style and can include freshly made omelettes, with ingredients to taste. Dinner was also excellent, reasonably priced and I’d say even outshone some of the highly rated restaurants in Dahab, so eventually we mostly ate at the hotel. Personally, our absolute favourite were the virgin fruit cocktails. The Paradise Cocktail deserves a review on its own!
Ambiance
The hotel is definitely not a party place and that is part of the beauty- total tranquility, although Dahab centre has many options on offer if one is in search of something more lively and the hotel makes it easy to get a lift into town on request for a small fee.
Demographic
The balance that Dahab Paradise has achieved really has to be respected. It’s the first place I’ve seen to successfully accommodate such a diverse mix of large groups, small groups, families, friends, couples, western tourists and more conservative clientele and keep everyone happy and enjoying the peaceful ambiance.
In short, I think Dahab Paradise is a great ambassador for Dahab and Egypt as a whole. We will certainly be returning and recommend anyone reading this not to hesitate in making a booking.
Thanks for a...
Read moreWell, as other mentioned, there is kind of risk to describe how nice this place is to stay.. but in same time it is important to tell other travelers what they'll certainly enjoy there as we did.
Let's start with what could bother.. no beach out of Dahab (in north) internet connexion .. and let's add how we deal with that: no beach.. no sand yes, but with little bit equipment and motivation, you can walk over 10m of rocks and access to corals, fish and reef slope direct to 30m.. beautiful and direct front hotel. A nice way to start your day! out of Dahab, then quiet place. Located north, on the road to blue hole, you'll get a bit more time in the morning for the breakfast before diving clubs grab you at your hotel. Taxi are very easy to find in the city as to order from hotel. At beginning it will be 50EGP.. after few days you'll negotiate 15EGP. internet connexion is not optimal.. due to 2 factors: access provider (2Mbps) and hotel infrastructure (WiFi repeater, telephone extension cords). Instead of get pisst, I tried to explain and suggest alternative solution: WiFi power line or maybe satellite ISP. We found out rooms closed to restaurant provide convenient internet but forget Netflix & co, especially if many customer share the input line.. but in same time, it is a good opportunity to start a connexion detox cure ;)
Let's talk now about what count more and make our stay a memorable experience. an oasis in desert value for money the staff .. and with bit more detail: this place offer all what you could need in the room (clean and working), a restaurant (complete menu, and even more or good surprise if you take time to talk with staff), a nice swimming pool and a beautiful view. All of this quiet, little lounge music (can negotiate your own one) and even some extra (to discover) value for money.. all of this for bit more than 30€ per night (for 2..). You'll discover than all activities are this accessible: quads, diving, free diving, etc. the staff, keep the best for the end, is excellent. You'll meet there a team working like a family. All motivated to fulfill your expectation the best they can. If it is not right, just explain and they'll take into account your wish. If you're lucky to be there at off-peak period, they'll even learn your habits and taste, e.g. perfect breakfast waiting for you on table. Ask any activity, they'll help you to organize it for you, from quads driving, scuba diving or even 1 day trip on Cairo. Precious help.
We spent there 2 weeks, as relaxing as entertaining. First time that we ask ourselves when we'll...
Read moreI was a bit worried as a woman travelling alone in Egypt for the first time and I could not have been happier with my choice!
The site is quiet, clean, and secure, the staff so incredibly helpful and professional. Nermine and Waed were so kind in answering all of my questions and helping me plan excursions to the Three Pools and the Blue Hole. Right behind the hotel is a path you can follow to trek into the desert. I went twice and was totally fine. The breakfast was generous and everything really clean and well cooked, I only ate at the restaurant once otherwise, and had a delicious Hawawshi! The restaurant staff was always really friendly and helpful.
I personally didn’t feel like the hotel was “far away”, it’s only a 25 min walk to the lighthouse, and rather enjoyed walking up and falling asleep to the sound of waves crashing rather than loud techno music (that you literally hear all day on the south end of the city). I was a bit concerned at first walking back because there’s a stretch of the street that isn’t well lit, but I did not get harassed once in Dahab, and there’s a lot of staff on the hotel site at night which makes it feel safe.
If you’re a nature lover and just looking for some low key downtime while unexpectedly falling in love with a small town in Egypt, this is the spot for you! You won’t believe the view!!!
Thank you again for the most...
