Faraana Heights Resort — Hotel in South Sinai

We rested in Faraan from April 17 to May 5 with 4-year-old child.18 nights) Room: we were given number 2121. it is a large apartment, about 40 square meters. close to the reception, restaurant and amphitheater. the room was cleaned every day, towels were changed almost every day, bed linen was changed every other day. a 1.5 liter bottle of water was given daily. the room has a large balcony with comfortable chairs. view of the center of the hotel and the sea. everything is available in the room as indicated in the hotel description. did not use the TV. we really liked the room. Food in the hotel is tasty, although the choice is not large. always offer fresh vegetables, but no sauces, oil, olives or feta for lunch and dinner. feta only for breakfast, unfortunately. As for fruit, there are always 3 types of fruit, tasty and ripe. about desserts: 4 types of desserts, sometimes 5, I don't like sweets and can't rate them. special thanks to the side dish chef! side dish 4-5 types of side dish. very tasty vegetables in white sauce. puree with butter is very tasty. there is always soup. tasteless to me( For lunch and dinner there are chicken, beef and fish. the fish is cooked deliciously and this seabass fillet is super! the chicken was always dry. the beef is tough and in a tasteless sauce. tasty sauces were sorely lacking. sometimes they served store-bought barbecue sauce and ketchup, but this is not what is needed. The restaurant is cool, the tables are cleaned, served quickly and prepared for visitors. but the chairs are not cleaned and there are always crumbs of food on them. they also wash the floor poorly, we once observed :washed under our table after 3 days when a child dropped a piece of fish. it is a pity that the Chief does not follow this. I'll tell you about the drinks. everything is as in the description of the hotel. juices are powdered drinks diluted and cooled, they color everything and for a long time))) but coffee!!!! people, they give natural ground coffee beans from coffee machines!!!! this is my first time. and it's arabica! super! I am very grateful to them for this fact. I did not take it with milk because it is powdered milk. The territory of the hotel is clean, beautiful, many flowers, beautiful paths, lighting. the pools are clean and well-kept. For the first time, we did not have diarrhea after swimming in the pool, for me this is a quality indicator. There are a lot of mosquitoes, the only way to save is to close all the windows and doors. they are not afraid of mosquito repellents( the whole area is on a slope, so there are many steps. the design also provides curbs and high cliffs on the territory. it is difficult and dangerous for the elderly and children. there are many dangerous terraces without protection from which a small child can fall. The animation is weak and their equipment is outdated. There is no club or playground for children, but there is swimming pool with a slide. The beach is 800 meters away. there is a bus to the beach, it runs from 9 a.m. and the last flight from the beach is at 6 p.m. the road to the beach is a wasteland with garbage, everything is covered with plastic bottles, a lot of garbage and poop. the beach is sandy, the wide entrance to the sea is also sandy. very good for children. but the beach is poorly cleaned. lots of poop, cigarettes and beer caps that can hurt your leg. the beach from the hotel has everything according to the description. the beach is picturesque: the sea, behind the mountains, not far away they ride horses every day. Very nice. but for some reason, the entire beach is lined with plastic 10-liter bottles with sand, and it really spoils the overall impression. Vacationers: 80% of Russians, few Italians, Czechs, and Poles. everything is adjusted to Russian times: animation, music, television. The hotel excelled my expectations.|Everything was thought over. Tourists are mostly from Russia, CIS & Italy. More nature & quality rest lovers, modest. Not glamorous, no showing off, casual wear. So feeling relaxed!!|Beach: The main reason to pick up this hotel!!! It's the last one in Sharm el Sheikh, Nabq bay, next to nature reserve so the beach was clean, sandy, wild as it gets deep in 3-4 meters. You can sleep with waves noise there. Animation filles up the beach with dances around noon time. Nice hotel bar at the beach was very helpful not to carry water back & forth. Fresh beach towels are provided every day when you are heading to the beach and you return them when you come back. Very helpful. 3-4 minutes sandy path walk to the beach, but I still prefered to use hotel shuttle bus during hot sun hours.|Food: Quality food, service quality control and clean. Spacious restaurant and never messy at buffet stands even when you go during last 10 minutes. The main restaurant serves 3 times a day. Maybe very basic with 3-4 types meat & fish dishes at lunch & dinner with lots of vegetable assortments & olive oil, so I could still maintain my healthy Mediteranean diet and eat just like home. There were a lot of assortment of desserts, though I'd like to see more fruits served. Well, Danish croissants were amazing at breakfast.|Area: the gardener did amazing job with all greenary, bushes & flowers around and hotel area is quite big for evening walks after 10pm animation show. Nice cave bar in Mayan motives. Romantic pool areas in Moroccan style tiles.|Reception: My big surprise how two receptionists are working so effectively and serving the front desk all alone. In some small boutique hotels I saw even 3-4 receptionists not able to handle things this well :)|Bonus: It was my fist time in Egypt, so I found helpful hotel arranges bus tours to the nearby sightseeing areas and city center at 8pm every night only for $5 per person.|Useful tips: Carry mosquito repellent spray or cream with you at nights for arms & legs and can be useful to buy electric anti-mosquito at $10 @ hotel shop next to reception on your first day.|And you can easily travel here with lowcoster with no baggage & carry-on as hotel shops have everything hats, flip-flops, swimwear, clothes, suncream, etc. at $5-10 per piece.|Views: I'd advise to pay extra for all-inclusive & sea view rooms. Location: The hotel is far away from any markets, shops and even the main road where you can find Taxi or transport. Area: The hotel is so big and easily you can lose your way to the room especially at night with poor lighting. Also as i saw there was few of security especially in the back yards and in the beach is 100% not secured. Food: if you search for the worst canteen in your city it will be much better than what i saw there. Animation: no animation at all except the notebook which plays the same songs the every night. I booked this hotel from anex tour- they said the rating is 4*. I booked it for 11 nights. When i arrived i was in shock. I asked travel operator to change the hotel, of course for additional fee. They found for us appropriate variant and when next day was time for check out - anex didn't provide us transfer for new hotel, so we called for a taxi. They didn't allow taxi approach to the front door, and i had lots of bags. I warned the security that i was moving out and taxi was to come. They didn't allow the car to come in. Finally tired i gave up and just asked bell boy to help me with the luggage. We were walking all the way to the gate which isfar eniugh and what happened next pissed me off totally. There was a bus approaching to the gate and the driver didn't care for people coming he just run over one of my bags that was carried by the bell boy! Can you imagine? I was more than upset. We returned to the reception and they behaved like nothing happened. "Its just your bag, it is broken so what? Forget it." And bus driver said that it wasn't his fault, the head of security said that bus didn't run over my bag, just drove closely - that was funny because all saw the damaged bag. It was more than enough for me. So now you know if anything happens the stuff will not defend you nor take your side. You can't say you are their guest. Only the workers of reception tried to support me he was constantly saying " i'm sorry, i ' m sorry".

The anex tour manager- i thought he already left before that conflict i found him hiding in his office not far from reception- he heard everything but did offer his help. It was the happiest moment when i finally left that horrible place. Don't doubt to change the hotel if you are in situation like this one.
