Mi Tierra Aeropuerto Hotel y Restaurante — Hotel in Departamento de La Paz

What a delightful hidden gem I found in this hotel! I just needed a quick overnight somewhere near the airport so I chose this one based on prior reviews. And after my visit I am happy to add my own positive notes!

Upon arrival I wasn't sure what to expect based on the location and how it looked from the outside. But once inside I found it quite inviting! The first thing I noticed was the kindness and friendliness of the staff....every one! I was greeted warmly, check in was a breeze and I was shown to my room.

I had chosen a single-bed room, and it was tiny, but clean and comfortable and the AC worked great. The only bummer is that it was an interior room with no window to the outside. The pool area was totally charming and quite lovely with all the painted murals and plenty of seating. It was a nice escape for the busy traffic area in front of the hotel.

I had dinner in the restaurant where I had an outstanding and reasonably priced dinner and I was well taken care of...again by a friendly and helpful staff. I was quite surprised to find that the restaurant is open 24 hours, and breakfast begins at 2am (!) for early departures like mine. Again, my breakfast was great and included in the price of my room.

At first I almost passed this hotel up because there was no mention of an airport shuttle. But I emailed the hotel in advance and was informed that they offer shuttle service 24 hours a day for $10. Perfect for my 4:15 am departure. The shuttle was right on time. (I recommend Mi Tierra add the available airport shuttle to their online info.)

This is a newer hotel that recently opened. The location to the airport is ideal. The hotel shuttle service picked us up at the airport at midnight and it was a short 5 minute drive from the airport. If you are looking for proximity to the airport this hotel fits that bill. Check in went smooth and we were in our room in no time at all. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel has a 24 restaurant for hungry traveler or if if you have an irregular schedule. They were renovating the interior parking lot when we arrived but appeared to be very close to completing the work today. The rooms were clean with two queen size beds. The bathrooms small but very very adequate for our hotel stay. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for someplace close to the airport that has a 24 restaurant. We ate the complimentary breakfast i had the pupusas three different kinds, revuelta, con loroco, and cheese. My wife had the breakfast with eggs, beans, plantains, crema, and toast. The coffe was very good. They even brought a carafe to our table as I really like my coffee in the morning. I had an early flight leaving El Salvador so I stayed here to be closer to the airport the next day. I absolutely loved it! It’s such a convenience! I checked in easily and stayed in a small room at a good rate. The property is very clean, safe and modern - a great value! I was hungry and grabbed dinner at the restaurant- WOW. The food there was one of my favorite in all of El Salvador, I will definitely be stopping there again for food in the future. The service was excellent as well. I came for the hotel but the restaurant was beyond impressive, compliments to the cooks! The hotel has a pool and outdoor seating area which was very clean and well maintained. I asked the front desk for a lot of help and the hotel is very organized. They washed a load of my laundry for a fee and drove me to the airport for a fee in the shuttle. The murals at this hotel were beautiful too. I felt very comfortable there and slept peacefully.
