The room was a decent size but a bit dated. It got quite warm inside, and while there’s no AC, there was a blower trying to circulate cool air. The box TV was a bit old (though we didn’t use it), and the mattress was okay but could use replacing. The pillows need replacing . Water pressure and hot water were a bit inconsistent, and the sink tap needs fixing. The bathroom door would benefit from having a handle.
The hotel is well located, just three blocks from the main square. We were lucky to catch the weekend food festival, which we didn’t know about in advance — this time, it extended all the way to Wednesday, and we really enjoyed it!
Breakfast was simple but pleasant, served in a small courtyard. The staff were lovely and always smiling, which made a big difference. There's also a playful dog on the property and a gym right next door.

Read moreWe were here for 4 nights and paid $20 for a room with private bath. The entire house was immaculate. The lady of the house, Socorro de Hassin, was so welcoming. It was||as if she was waiting for us to show up. She was quite a trip as well. Sweet as sugar. Like a professional grandmother or something. We were treated like family, and that is no exaggeration. There was cable television and internet good for 10 hours of surf time. The town is wonderful, and the weekend food fair was amazing. The room was cleaned for us daily. Plenty of hot water. Large closet in the room. It was a home, but you were given a key to the guest door, so you could come and go as you please. Two supermarkets were a few blocks away. We plan on going back to this place for the food fair when we turn to head north, and we will stay here. The location is a few blocks from the lovely square. A very pleasant...
Read moreIt was a Casa(family home)and not really a hostel as only one room hand bunk beds. The family were very accomodating and though the wife spoke no English she used the translator. However, the husband spoke English fluently and we were able to have a wonderful conversation in the evening. The bed and the room was comfy, the courtyard is a good place to relax or have breakfast. The bathroom was clean and had good water pressure including hot water. Wifi was strong throughout the property. Breakfast was wholesome. Location was less than a 3min walk to the main square and in a quiet and safe neighbourhood. This was an excellent value for money Casa and I wish I had booked for 2nights as Juayua is a nice colonial...
