El Rancho de Don Moncho — Hotel in Municipio de Chiltiupan

I rate my visits based on value, and this is definitely a great find. (Note: This is not a hotel, but a beach house where you occupy rooms with private bathrooms and plenty of common areas)

CONS. #1 The rooms and property may need some updates. Don't look for anything luxurious; however they were perfectly adequate for us. #2 There seem to be a little bit of miscommunication between the management (who are not located at the property ) and the local employees, but everyone was very quick to solve any issues. #3 The 500 mts of access road can be negotiated with a regular car but carefully.

PROS. WONDERFUL LOCATION. Just this makes this place well worth it! Picture yourself in this small tropical cove, just a few steps from your room. Plenty of green, outdoor pool, they even cook for you if you request it. Special mention to the staff on site, who were extremely helpful and attentive. This place is amazing! Not a lot of tourists and the beach is private to a couple other hotels and houses on this beach, which is Playa Shalpa. Beautiful views! Great pool!
