After check-in we got a room with the door we couldn't unlock as the lock was out of order. When we finally somehow managed to unlock the door and went to the bathroom, we saw a big hole in the ceiling showing some pipes.... (in the evening the guesthouse owner asked us what we hadn't liked about the room as in his opinion, the room was OK...).||||We asked for another room, and after a while of hesitation from the receptionist, we got what we wanted. We went to the other room (number 205) and, at first glance, we liked it but after a while we noticed several things hard to accept. ||||First, there was some brown sticky liquid splashed on the room's walls and window (the liquid must have been old as it actually turned glue). The bathroom was dirty and released bad odour of mould (we saw mould on the shower curtains and the ventilator in the ceiling). The bathroom sink was broken (it must have been broken for a long time as the breaking lines were dark), and the water was leaking from the sink to the floor. We couldn't open the window as the mechanism for window opening was broken (fortunately, the temperature outside was moderate so we could survive without opening the window). ||||The problem with the Humala Guest House is that it looks great both on the Internet and at first glance upon arrival thanks to its interiors and furniture in neo-classical style. But when you give it a second look and have to spend there a night or two, it's a sort of disaster. ||||The Humala Guest House needs general renovation right now! They are deceiving people with great photos on the Internet. Actually, the interiors look different. See the attached photos.||||This is the worst guesthouse I have...
Read moreWe were excited when we found this place: they had room for 9 people, good price, and we were told we could check in after midnight (since we were coming back from the Augustibluus festival). Unfortunately, none of that happened. When we arrived, this good feeling disappeared. We arrived to the doors closed and lights off. When someone came, he claimed we didn't have a reservation for that night and the hotel was full, until my wife's mother (who speaks Russian) spoke with him, and he called his supervisor to find out that we did in fact have a reservation and our room keys were at the front desk. Before going to bed, he told me that the earliest that they could accommodate 9 people for breakfast was 9.40, which I said was fine, since we had to leave at 10. The next morning that was indeed not possible: two could eat around 9.30, but when the rest came down around 9.40-9.45, we were told that it was no longer possible until after we had to leave. The morning crew did their best to give us some sandwiches, but were angry when we had to leave at 10, even though I told them multiple times, in English and Estonian. Even with all this, I wouldn't normally bother leaving a review.||||But yesterday, someone called my wife and accused her of stealing a room key and threatened her with a huge fine for not returning it. We double checked all of our luggage and even called the car rental to make sure it didn't somehow get dropped in there. When I called back today, I was told that the key was found, without any apology for threatening my wife.||||Unfortunately, this dream find turned into a...
Read moreArrived at the hotel and noone was there. Worked in the end via entry code sent via SMS. Just used this cheap solution as I only went to sleep there for one night.|Due to my height I asked if it was possible to get a room with a broader or bigger bed - s.th. which hotels always do if relevant rooms are available. When looking at the number of keys at the reception and the number of cars in front of the guest house, I suggest by 99% that this hotel was by far not full booked. Nevertheless I got a room under the roof and no bigger bed. Toilet was located under the sloping roof with the sink so close to it that it was not even possible to sit normally on the toilet when you do your business there.|Curtains serve only not to be seen from outside, but these curtains do not keep the daylight out of your rooms which makes your room quite bright even at 2 o`clock at night in June. From this point of view this hotel makes only sense during darker seasons.|Sleep was consequently very bad that night. If you are no budget traveler look out for sth better, I experienced many hotels in different countries that were far better...
