Guzara Hotel Addis — Hotel in Addis Ababa

We stayed at Guzara Hotel on two occasions whilst travelling around Ethiopia, and not once was the service and quality of this hotel anything but exceptional.

Located on a quiet, and safe street this hotel is inviting and the staff are welcoming and friendly. We were greeted by the Managing Director of the hotel who did everything, throughout both our stays, to make our stay as comfortable as humanly possible.

The rooms are comfy and secure and many seem to have a balcony where you can take in the stunning views of Ethiopia's sprawling capital.

One of the best features of Guzara was it's kitchen. The menu consisted of a mix of traditional Ethiopian food and western classics. Every dish we ordered was cooked fresh and lovingly prepared. It's not uncommon to catch a stomach bug in even some of the best establishments in East Africa, but not one of our group fell ill from the delicious food prepared for us at Guzara.

A perfect place to stay. I felt very safe and the area is very peaceful so its easy to sleep at night. The rooms are so clean and are decorated really nicely, and the building stays very cool despite the heat in Addis. The bathroom is also super clean and is very modern with lovely hot showers. I love the little balconie where you can see a great city view. The beds are so comfortable, with crisp clean perfectly white bedding. The restaurant has delicious food for all tastes - Italian, Ethiopian and American style food, and great coffee! The wifi is also very fast. The owner and his wife and all the staff will make you feel so welcome in Addis and will help with organising anything you need, including transport around town. The free airport shuttle was also an added luxury. The location is also perfect as its quick and easy to get into the centre of town, to/ from the airport and to any of the tourist attractions from there. I stayed for 6 nights in total and would definitely go back and would 100% recommend to...

I stayed at Guzara hotel in April 2019 with friends and really enjoyed the atmosphere and quality of the hotel. Off in a quiet residential street but a short way from the main city you have many options to keep yourself entertained. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming and you felt that nothing was too much trouble. I shared a twin room with a friend which was spacious and well appointed and loved that we had a balcony. At night the room is cool and comfortable which makes it easy too sleep well after a hot day sightseeing, the walls are thick and rooms are quite far apart so i never heard any noises from other guests. The best part about the stay was getting up, having a nice shower and going down for breakfast which was always delicious and well prepared. I particularly enjoyed my morning machiato! I would recommend a stay at Guzara to friends and family alike. The managing director and his staff worked hard to make our once in a lifetime trip...
