Roseau Hotel & Spa — Hotel in Amhara Region

We have been travelling for 20+ days across Ethiopia and this is one of the worst experiences. Our travelling was for vacation so we have several activities planned to do. Here, to be able to rest is impossible. The superior luxury rooms are the most loud of all rooms, they prioritise the loud music in the bar on top of any sleep experience. Even they move us to another room on the second night and the music only keeps going on. If you are planning to wake up early to know Gondar and surroundings like Simien Mountains, this is not the best place to stay. And if you are going to stay anyway, consider the cheap rooms as those are less loud than the expensive ones.

Also, hot shower wasn’t working one day, having to go to another room to get shower. And asking for fixing these issues is losing your time...

We booked our room on Booking.com. We checked-in according to our booking. Unfortunately, the room didn't truly match the description on the Booking page. The windows were not soundproof (this information was deleted by the owner when we had reported this issue). Sonyiu could hear every single sound from a very busy street..They agreed to change our room to another one, which was much smaller, but quite. Unfortunately, during our 2 night stay, the water was cold under the shower, the sejf and hairdryer didn't work, we didn't receive shampoo as it was promised. We reported all of these to the reception. They cancelled our reservation on Booking.com, so we cannot write a bad review.... terrible. The staff was not helpful at all, except for...

Traveling from Washington, DC to Gondar, I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay than Roseau Hotel & Spa. From the moment I arrived, the staff welcomed me with genuine kindness and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable throughout my visit. The rooms were clean and relaxing, and the service was consistently excellent. If you're looking for a place in Gondar where you can truly feel at home while enjoying a peaceful stay, I highly recommend Roseau...
