Returned here after 3 years of absence for covid reasons. To be fair expectations were not too high given the pandemic and the way business will have suffered but I am reviewing at a standard set against the room charges that would have been charged to a foreigner and comparing with other accommodation at that rate at which I stayed. ||||The hotel is in a very Good location for the lake walk with the start of the walk being about 500 yards away. Good walking distance of restaurants, including La Venezia. Very quiet location. Apart from that I found Little else to commend this time. As said Overpriced and advertised room rate Tack outrageous. Seemed Very popular with diaspora. ||||Breakfast did have an egg station . Plenty of Ethiopian dishes but some fresh fruit would have been nice. ||||In first room given there was a view of a wall and water tank. Loo would not flush. This problem was Addressed efficiently and courteously by moving . The Second room had both bath and shower but No shower curtain. This meant Water went everywhere. To avoid spraying everywhere had to aim at exposed wires of water heater tank which was probably Not a safe move so let water go on floor. The Bath could not be used as water switch seized up. Given the Floors tiled the bathroom became unsafe and Very slippery with no bath mat. Only one towel supplied.asked for a second and management’s permission had to be obtained! ||||. Drinks and Food on site expensive. Plenty of staff But don’t listen to orders. WiFi poor. ||||Treat this as a Budget hotel and pay accordingly and it’s fine but it is not what claims to be on...
Read moreStart with the staff. They are charming and helpful. As with most places in low season price wa negotiable. The rooms are very light and plenty of space to hang clothes though not much more floor space for suitcases. Décor fairly bland. Plenty of hot water. The small balcony is a bonus but has no furniture. That would be nice as moving furniture out is a bit cumbersome. The mosquito net bit small for the bed. Secure off street parking. No lift and not aware of any ground floor rooms so probably not suitable for those with a disability. It does not have lake views but if you get room overlooking car park and higher up you can see hornbills and other birds in the patch of trees. The hotel is right by the lake, however, and well placed to do the whole walk along the Awasa Dyke which takes about an hour without stops. Also walking distance of many restaurants and cultural bar up on the main road. Breakfast just...
Read moreWe had a comfortable one night stay here. Our room was large, with a king bed (a little too soft), work table and chair, small table with two chairs, large wardrobe and a modern bathroom with shower. We had hot water, the electricity was on the entire time and the wi-fi worked pretty well, even on Epiphany. The staff was very nice. The included breakfast was wonderful, with many local options as well as eggs and toast and some sweets. The only problem was with the lunch. All we wanted was lentil soup and a salad as we only had an hour before leaving for the celebration. They did not have lentil soup so we ordered a pizza, which took twice as long to prepare as...
