I stayed seven nights here and had a great time.||||The site is a combined campsite and hostel. I was in the hostel part. The hostel is further divided into rooms as well as a converted bus which sleeps five! I was in the converted bus. I think the idea is to put younger people and large groups in the rooms and old gits like me in the converted bus.||||The common area is large and includes three cookers and two fridges. There are at least eight showers, maybe more.||||However, it's a hostel. If you're not prepared to accept shared spaces, then fork out for a posh hotel.||||The owner, Kristjan, is extremely friendly and professional and manages to make both his large groups and single travellers feel welcome and accommodated.||||He is also very laid back. He can't be there 24 hours, so has no problem with guests rolling up, finding a place to kip, and settling up for money afterwards.||||It is about a one-minute walk to the bus stop and about 20 minutes on foot to a supermarket. The bus is on the busiest line in the Faroes, from the airport to the capital Torshavn.||||My flight back was very early on a Sunday, too early to get the bus, so Kristjan very kindly sorted out a transfer for me for 100 kroner which I understand is half the price of a taxi. He even did this on a Saturday evening when quite rightly enjoying himself with a beer or ten after going to the Faroe Islands v Lithuania match (the Faroes won 2-1).||||For the seven nights I paid 1750 kroner/€235.20, or €33.60 a night. OK, that might be pricey in Moldova, but it's dirt cheap...

I loved everything about my stay here: the people, the location, the kitchen and lounge space, how cozy it is, the views, the proximity to some beautiful hikes. Renata was so kind, welcoming and helpful from check-in throughout the entire stay. She gave not only me but lots of other guests advice every day on which hikes to do based on the weather forecast and she was always spot on with her recommendations. She also has a great sense of humor and made me laugh on the daily :) Kristjan, the owner, is also incredibly kind, personable, friendly and helpful, sharing tips from a local’s perspective. After traveling for a month this became my favorite place - both the hostel and the Faroe Islands - and felt like home. I met people from all over the world and friends for a lifetime here. You can also get around without a car by walking to some hikes, taking the bus and hitchhiking. I always felt very safe as a solo female traveller. The locals here are very friendly and helpful. Thank you so much Kristjan and Renata for everything!!

First I will say that the host Christian was the nicest and most helpful person I have met in the Faroe islands. However, he seemed to be the only person operating the hostel and for the number of guests there was not enough Christian to go around. I think the owners should seriously consider hiring additional staff. The rooms were tiny maybe the smallest for that number of people of any hostel I have been to. I left my luggage in my car because there was not enough space in the room. The hostel rooms/bathrooms etc were not dirty but also not clean. Checking in was confusing as the host was not there when I arrived. I felt the need to help all the guests who arrived after me with the check in process. Despite the negatives the view out the window is spectacular and is better than the view many a fancy hotel/resort I have been to.
