I will repost this review as the email I wrote to the owners. Your food is let down by your very rude staff, very disappointing.

We have just visited your cafe for a 1630 booking. I had to write an email because it was so disappointing. Your establishment came very highly recommended to us by various local people.

Im sure we were the last sitting after a busy Sunday but the service we received was a joke. The 2 young girls on tonight barely even acknowledged us when we walked in, when they finally seated us, I had to eventually go to the counter to place an order as they were completely ignoring everyone who had walked in to sit down. The food took over an hour to arrive with no explanation. In the meantime, the girls were casually chatting to each other while tables were left to be cleared and there was zero acknowledgement from two of them that people were getting anxious waiting for their food. When she finally brought our food and drinks (we weren't even given these at the start), she barely said sorry for the wait.

Honestly I am not sure why you were recommended to us and it seems a shame with salmon jumping in the cages outside that there is none on the menu (I understand this was originally a place to dry cod so bacalao is the focus). The staff need to be told that the customers are their priority and are spending good money with your business. The girl didn't even lift her head to say goodbye when we or anyone else was leaving which is complete ignorance in my opinion.

The food was nice but would have tasted a lot nicer if the staff had been even a little polite. There are plenty of Faroese eateries we have visited where we have received a...

To me this place was a 5 stars, the food was incredible. I’m not a fan of sea food and ordered a fish soup, which had very well balanced flavors. With that I drank a rhubarb lemonade, and as a dessert the waffles with rhubarb cream and tea.

The place on its own it is packed with history, on how fish was dried and they even exhibit some old photos of the process and you can find outside the full history written in English. Souvenirs and hand crafted soap can also be found inside.

My biggest regret was not ordering the salmon, as I was enjoying the soup, I saw how one of the biggest salmon fillets I’ve ever seen, arrived at the table next to me. It looked incredible and tasty.

From my side I have no complaints at all. Everything came fast, and on point.

To me the biggest issue with this place is the service. Waitresses were completely lost here, as we arrive and by the point we left the service completely fell apart. We saw people leaving because they were not welcome or served. Some other people were grabbing by themselves menus, napkins, utensils, moving dirty dishes to other tables, etc. I’m not lowering the score because neither of those affected me at all, for me everything went smoothly, but they should really improve service if they want to keep...

The good and the bad. The good: based on food alone they absolutely get 5 stars! Everything was excellent!!! I tried the seafood soup, potato salad and scallops. Everything was divine. I also thought the atmosphere of the building was great.

The bad: the service was absolutely awful. I wouldn’t say the waitresses were rude but they definitely made it seem like I was bothering them to their job. There were 3 girls working when I came in, they saw me and just left me standing there for a bit and continued their conversation. Once they acknowledged me, I was sat at a dirty table; it still had food from the previous guests. She made a comment saying she would clean it but then walked away. She didn’t come back for 10 minutes or so and took my order. When she left she took some of the dirty dishes but left the bread basket from the previous guests… the old bread stayed on the table for the duration of my meal. When I ordered I asked for water and asked again when my food came out since I never received it, at which point she told me water was self serve from a jug on a table over on the side.

I ate out every day for the week I was on Faroe Islands and this was only place I received bad service, which is such a shame since the...

This place is fantastic! It is adorable and super cozy inside with really great details like fish lights and unique dining sets. They also serve all local beer and cider and sell locally made soaps. The first time we got there around 17:00, not knowing that they only serve cafe items and soup between 17-18:00, but we wanted the fish soup anyways! It was outstanding - truly delicious. The second time we went at 14:00 for a late lunch and the place was packed. This time they seated us and took our order. Two of us got cappuccinos, a fish soup, beans, a tomato appetizer, and extra bread (it's that good). The drinks came with our food and we did have to wait a while to get it, but it was worth the wait. We literally wiped down our plates with the rest of the bread. Whoever the chef is... 👏🏼 We weren't expecting to eat this well on the islands! It's safe to say that we would have gone back again, but unfortunately had bad timing because they were closed for a holiday.
