A Magical Stay at Coral Cove Beach Villas, Maui Bay, Fiji
There were 14 of us staying at Coral Cove Beach Villas, and from the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the warmest Fijian hospitality from the amazing Emma, Maureen, and of course, Chef Jay. Their kindness, attention to detail, and welcoming energy set the tone for what became a phenomenal week.
Every meal prepared by Chef Jay and his team absolutely nailed my brief — fresh, flavourful, and full of love. One of the highlights was my 40th birthday celebration, where around 35 guests — Aussies, Rotumans, and Fijians — came together for a night of laughter, dancing, and connection. We were treated to a traditional performance by the ‘Helava’ group, a stunning sunset over the reef, live music, a traditional lovo with pork, chicken, fish & local root vegetables collected fresh from Sigatoka market by chef Jay himself served with the most beautiful selection of salads. We then danced by the pool late into the night. It was pure magic.
The layout of the villas is perfect — plenty of private space for quiet moments, yet many inviting areas for everyone to come together to enjoy the beach, pool, and main house. The semi-private beach was incredible, alive with colourful coral and sea life — an ocean rainbow. We even made friends with the two lovely local dogs, Tony and JeJe, who became our loyal companions (and even escorted us to dinner one night!).
Nothing was ever too much trouble for Chef Jay and his team — they went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. By the end of the week, they truly felt like family.

Read moreWe recently stayed at Coral Cove Private Villas and it truly exceeded all our expectations. The property itself is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking ocean views and direct access to a semi-private beach — it felt like our own slice of paradise.
One of the highlights was the private pool, perfect for relaxing at any time of day. But what truly made our stay exceptional was the service.
A special mention must go to Chef Jay, who was not only a phenomenal chef but also an outstanding host. From beautifully presented gourmet meals to thoughtfully preparing something special for our 2.5-year-old, every detail was taken care of. The food was honestly some of the best we’ve ever had — five-star quality in every bite. Jay also went above and beyond to arrange anything we needed, making the experience seamless and luxurious.
Another unforgettable moment was when a staff member kindly stayed after hours to teach us how to cook a traditional lovo and guided us through a kava ceremony with our family. It was such a memorable and meaningful experience that added a real cultural touch to our stay.
Lastly, we noticed a few reviews mentioning cleanliness — we want to reassure future guests that everything, including the sheets, was spotlessly clean during our visit.

Read moreWe’ve just returned from a fantastic 7-night stay at Coral Cove as a group of 7 adults (including older teens), and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. The location is unbeatable—your own access to a quiet beach, plus snorkelling and kayaking in the bay using the villa’s provided gear was absolutely spectacular.
What truly made our stay exceptional, however, was Jay, the villa’s host and chef. Every meal was fresh, generous, and absolutely delicious—prepared and served with such care and attention. Although we dined out one evening at the highly rated Crab Shack, it simply didn’t compare to the meals we enjoyed at the villa.
The staff were warm, helpful, and always available without being intrusive. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and we are genuinely grateful for everything they did to make our stay so memorable.
We also highly recommend trying the traditional lovo dinner—it’s a wonderful cultural experience and a real feast!
The villa itself is comfortable and well located—close to a few small eateries, a day spa, and a supermarket. For better stock and prices, we found the trip to Sigatoka worthwhile.
A truly unforgettable stay—thank you to everyone...
