There is an open construction site just in front of the rooms. We were never informed about this and the disturbance (visual and sound wise) that this would bring us. || - Food choice for vegetarian (vegan) is extremely limited. However there were some options (salad or an oat bowl) - they even tasted ok depending on the day (if the chef was present). However the price of 26€ for a small vegan bowl of cabbage, oats, veggies and beens / 20€ for a salad felt like a rip off. (And did not taste very well) || - Sauna. Normally in Finnland sauna is included, but here you had to pay 50€ extra if you wanted to use the sauna in the evening. I understand this meant to save energy, but with the price of the room it felt like it should be included. ||- Staff. Very kind and very young. Felt like all of them were super sweet teenagers but when we complained it was obvious that it wont bring anything. The girls were changing every day and it just did not seem very professional. || - For cleaning the premises a motor car is used, wich does not fit at all to the whole sustainability concept. ||- For a three nights stay our room felt a bit cramped. Rooms...

The stars are mainly for the staff - we got excellent service, everyone was super friendly and attentive. Food is good but the menu was limited. Location is convenient to reach with public transport as the bus stop is right outside. The downsides - while booking I saw that morning sauna is included in the price, but when arriving I learned what that means is that women’s timeslot is at 6 am and men’s at 7. This is ridiculous, I am not gonna wake up at 6 to go to sauna? We ended up needing to book our private evening sauna slot which cost 50 euros for 50 min. They also advertise lake views, which is true, but the lake is actually down the hill and not very close. I was expecting being able to have a swim from the sauna but the walk down and up the hill, crossing a road is not nice or convenient. All in all a nice stay, but a bit pricey for...

Nice hotel, room rate feels a bit overpriced in comparison to other hotels in the city center of Helsinki. Bathroom is a bit small, no room to place toiletries. Comfortable bed and the room was very clean. Staff was nice and welcoming. The location is great if you want to go hiking in Nuuksio. The website says that the rooms have a view of the lake which is a bit misleading - you can kind of see the lake through the trees but I had a different understanding of the term „lake view“. There is a big road that you see first. Sauna could have been hotter and it’s unfortunate that you can’t go swimming directly from the sauna. The place would get 4, maybe even 5 stars from me if it were right by the lake. I would still consider coming again for some time...

We had the most lovely stay at Haltia Lake Lodge this September. We mostly went hiking and the trails around the lodge are just beautiful. What made this holiday so very special was the outstanding hospitality (never been to a hotel with staff that was so attentive and did everything they could to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, with lots of tips on what to do). Also, I'd always come back just for the food. Everything is freshly prepared, they do everything to minimize food waste by planning the meals ahead, and most ingredients are local. This holiday made me fall in love with Finland and if you're planning a longer trip, this place would be a perfect start since it's so easy to reach from Helsinki Airport, too.

The strength of this hotel is obviously the location, which is perfect as starting point for hiking. The staff is really very nice and accommodating. The hotel room we had was fine, but be aware that there is basically no space to store your clothes or other things, also the bathroom is really small, even for Finnish standards. It had a nice little balcony. Dinner possibility is simple but fine enough, and plus points for the nice staff. Breakfast is a good standard hotel breakfast. Overall I would surely recommend it if you are planning a hike here.

Stopped by for a beer after a hike in the national park and ended up staying for dinner because it was such a gorgeous place to be. The food was, somewhat unexpectedly, some of the best I've ever eaten - pea and ham soup with sweet mustard, and deer and cheddar sausages with potato salad. Genuinely delicious! Mika (apologies if the spelling is wrong) was an excellent host and chef. He would make an absolute killing if he set up a Finnish restaurant in London! We'll definitely be back to stay in the cabins.
