The website for this hotel didn't show any prices, and only minimal photos, but I really needed a room in Joutsa for one night, so I asked about their availability and accepted what they offered anyway: 90€ for a double room, even though I found it very expensive. Oh, I need to add it took them one month to answer my email... and they did only when I sent a second email asking again. ||||I was very surprised when I found out my room wasn't ready when I arrived, and the hotel is extremely old and in very bad condition, with cheap, bad quality furniture... not what you'd expect when you pay 90€/night! I didn't stay long, though, I went out only to return very late at night, when there was no staff. Too bad, because then I realized that everything was dirty: dust everywhere, a ton of hair in the shower drain, some mold on the shower wall... not to mention that the shower plate took up most of the bathroom space! Very uncomfortable. ||||The bed was so narrow I couldn't move without falling down (yes, I'm overweight, but even when I was 30 kg heavier than I am now, I never had a problem with any bed), and before I could sleep (or try to) I had to kill some bugs that were between the matress and the matress cover. Ew! Also, the bedspread, the curtains and the table cloth felt heavy and thick with grime. Another problem was the door... there was no handle inside, so it was hard to close it. ||||A terrible hotel, which I never expected to find in a country like Finland, where things usually work well and people are reliable. Needless to say I refused to pay the 90€, I easily got a discount when I complained the next morning. The only good things about this place are its location, very close to the bus station, and the staff that...
Read morethe beds were quite comfortable and coffee at breakfast was good. That’s about the only good thing about this hotel.|| We only booked this hotel because it was the only one at this location. We were visiting friends who had rented a cabin. When we got there nobody was at the hotel. This was at 3pm; check in time. Luckily there were 2 ladies around who called the owner for us who then showed up. ‘Our restaurant is closed on Mondays’ was the explanation we got. And ‘do you want to pay now?’ was pretty much the rest of the conversation. // Room was small; no biggy. Bathroom was REALLY small. Everything had a grimy touch to it. // Breakfast was very basic but ok. Picked a coffee cup, turned it around and it had coffee stains in it from the previous person. 2nd, 3rd, 4th cup etc was the same. Half the cups on their stash were unwashed. I put them aside and let the owner know. Cutlery also not quite clean. All in all we would not stay here again. More than €100 a night for a 1* hotel is...
Read moreWe stayed at Aatto ja Elli midsummer 2015 during our friends wedding. I was little sceptic at what to expect since hotel only had only one 1 out of 5 star review. However, We were pleasantly surprised at what we got.||||The room was clean, beds were comfy and we even had sauna in room even though we did not have time to use it. The room was probably old apartment and it was quite large. ||||Day we arrived it was raining a bit so it was cool to find some umbrellas from hotel cafe we could borrow. Breakfast next morning was quite basic hotel stuff.||||Few times i was looking for staff and i was not able to find anybody. Staff wont be the 24/7, so at night you are on your own.||||Overall, hotel was quite good...
