Karjalan Portti — Hotel in Lappeenranta sub-region

I slept one night at Karjalan Portti before continuing my bike trip along the beautiful lake Saimaa. The reception was closed as I arrived in the evening, but an envelope with my name and a key waited for me at the front door. I easily found my room and it was nice to see how modern and tidy it was. The rooms are recently renovated and very clean. I would say simple but comfortable, also with a television. Private bathroom in the room, and a shared kitchen in the same building, with fridge, coffee maker and other utilities. In the morning I spoke with the owner while enjoying some of the fresh pancakes at the café in the main building. He was an old and very friendly man. As part of the hotel there is also a car museum and an antique shop. Very much worth a visit, and VERY GOOD VALUE...

The hotel is situated on the highway: + you can stop there if you are tired of a long journey and you can easily go on a journey; - cars, pollution, noise||||The rooms are spacious, clean, furniture is a bit worn out. Hot water is not available late at night.||If you arrive late at night it can be difficult to get in cause the reception works...well, when the owner wants it))||||Nevertheless, it has everything for relaxation at reasonable price. Barbecue, nature, lakes 15 min walk, bikes. Kitchen is clean, has a coffee machine, a toaster, lots of plates, glasses, though cups lack)||||P.S. sculptures in the yard in accordance with the cottages architecture make the hotel more magical, as from...

Отличное место для того, чтобы бюджетно переночевать, либо для того, чтобы выбрать его "штаб-квартирой" для вылазок по Южной Карелии. ||Отель расположен прямо на трассе 6, что никак не сказывается на тишине в комнатах. Вы получите вполне благоустроенный номер с туалетом, душем и телевизором, а также уютную кухню со всем необходимым. Сам отельный корпус, судя по внешнему виду не на фото, а воочию, явно нуждается в ремонте, но внутри вы этого никак не почувствуете.||Имейте в виду, что здесь можно остановиться, даже если у вас нет предварительной брони и даже после того, когда хозяева уже ушли (после 17.00)! Просто возьмите из кармашка на входной двери в рецепцию (это соседний дом, там же находится кафе) конверт с ключом, на котором написано (по-русски!) "Свободный номер" - и отправляйтесь отдыхать. На следующий день, когда хозяева вернутся, оплатите или оставите номер за собой. В кафе - свежая выпечка и хороший кофе.||Хозяева говорят по-английски.
