Hotelli Sodankylä — Hotel in Northern Lapland

I arrived in Sodankyla in the pouring rain following a long day on the bike. I was warmly welcomed and luckily there was still a room available.|The room was simple, but provided everything I needed. Well heated and lots of space to spread out my wet riding gear. Everything was perfectly dry by the morning!||The bar/pub had a reasonable selection of meals to choose from. The staff was helpful and suggested a local beer and dish to try. I visited this hotel when traveling on business in Sodankylä. I only stayed here for one night. ||||The overall appearance is quite outdated but it kinda met my expectations. The room and the other spaces were clean and tidy. The hotel is conveniently located near the E75/4 main road, so it's easy to reach (and you can't get lost anyway). The town is small so it's also very quiet. ||||I read some of the other reviews here and since I'm a Finn, I can't evaluate the staff's English skills. I do think the service was friendly though. This was my 2nd visit for business. The staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is outdated and in need of a renovation. The bathroom was tidy and functional but outdated. The linen was clean and room tidy on arrival. Breakfast is ok when the restaurant is open. Two consecutive mornings we did not get breakfast as the restaurant did not open on time and we had to go to work early. The amenities were not restocked every day and my room was not cleaned or bed made during the 6 days I stayed in the hotel. For a lower price this would be acceptable but for the asking price you...
