Hotelli Raahen Hovi — Hotel in Raahe sub-region

Recently travelled for business. Before being scared off though, from looking at the alternatives, it looks like it is one of the better ones in the area. The hotel is very basic, the room wasn't located in the main hotel building, it was across the road in another building, there was a Sauna in the main hotel, not quite as handy when you have to cross the road to get to it. The breakfast was also in the main building. Perhaps it is just my taste, but there wasn't a great deal of hot food choices, dry meatballs, hot dog type sausages & scrambled eggs, which I think may have been made with powdered eggs (the only way I think you could get the consistency). This was my first time in Finland, so unsure if this is just the norm for breakfast. The room was generally clean, however it wasn't cleaned everyday, I stayed for over a week and there were 2 days in a row it wasn't cleaned/towels replaced. The curtain fell off, my colleague also had the same issue in his room. I felt cold a few nights, the heating didn't seem to be on at all. The toilet was a bit smelly, not sure if the extractor was sufficient. There was parking next to the hotel which was free. There was also a few restaurants nearby that were good. There is a big supermarket...

The location is brilliantn in the center of Raahe. Shops nearby. Well, Raahe is a all town so nothing is far away.|The staff is friendly. Rooms are clean and ok. To the minisuite belongs an own sauna. No minibar but a fridge in the room and electric kettle, so if you stay longer and don't want to eat in a restaurant every day, you can easily eat in your room. In this case bring your own cutlery. The TV is in most of the rooms attached to the wall, so it is very difficult to connect a HDMI cable on the backside of it.|The breakfast is ok but bacon is missing and scrambled eggs are a flabby pap.|The price quality rate is with 119€ for a single room and 140€ for a room with own sauna too expensive. Schade, aber mehr als 3 Sterne gebe ich nicht. Die Lage des Hotels ist ok, 6min vom Bus Bahnhof und ein bisschen länger braucht man zum Wasser. Beim Check in gab es Verständigungsprobleme, obwohl die Dame sehr freundlich war.

Zimmer: gute Größe, aber Fenster mit Dauejalousie, konnte man nicht hochziehen. Bei geöffnetem Fenster Dauerlärm von einer Anlage, nicht laut, aber durchgehend. Kühlschrank war defekt, Batterien der Fernbedienung des Fernsehers waren auch leer. Batterien ging ich hinunter auswechseln, der Kühlschrank wurde am nächsten Tag getauscht. Das könnte man, bevor der Gast kommt, checken.

Betten mit zusätzlicher Auflage, die immer wieder wanderte, Leintuch löste sich deshalb regelmäßig.

Licht der Lampen schwach und nicht zum Lesen geeignet.

Badezimmer: ein Teil der Duschverkleidung fehlte, wurde durch einen Vorhang ersetzt... Der Duschschlauch drehte sich immer zur Öffnung, kein Vorleger vorhanden... unebener Boden und der stand dann unter Wasser. Die Tücher haben die guten Zeiten hinter sich, aber egal. Für den Spiegel musste ich mich auf die Zehenspitzen stellen, für mich zu hoch...

Frühstück ausreichend, auch wenn teilweise zB die Wurst sehr lieblos angerichtet wurde.

Keine Zange fürs Gebäck.

Positiv: Kaffee und Tee den ganzen Tag über.

Sauna: sehr schöner Saunabereich.

Auch wenn ich bei der Anreise die Saunazeiten gesagt bekam, war sie dann nicht geheizt. Ist ja ok, muss man aber mitteilen,.. So konnte ich erst 1 Stunde später als geplant gehen. Außerdem, nicht ganz verständlich, dass man mit der Zimmer Karte nicht hinein kann, sondern wieder hinunter zur Tür Rezeption musste, andere Karte holen!/zurück bringen vor und nach der Sauna.

Aber, da diese sehr schön ist, nehme ich an, dass ich einfach ein sehr schlechtes Zimmer bekommen habe und, dass 3 Sterne absolut gerechtfertigt sind.

Es waren einfach zu viele "Kleinigkeiten" die nicht gepasst haben, der Aufenthalt deshalb auch nicht besser...
