Wife abd I travek to Tampere almost every summer, and Hotelli Kauppi has been our go-to place, for years nowm I don't usually bother with reviews, but I think this hotel deserves recognition.||+ Free parking, cebtral location and easy to get to with a car. We travel by car, so the forementioned things are great just for getting to the hotel. During our stays, we've been left without a parking spot, and on yop of that it's very easy hop in and leave, if you're planning to go somewhere by car during your stay. The main highways are easy to get to. ||This has always been a huge plus in my book, but more so now that the central area of Tampere isn't accessible by car (the central main road atleast) so getting around by car from a hotel isn't a granted thing in every hotel. ||+ Pet friendly accomodation. We have a young dog with us. We got a room from the first floor, so tkaing the dog out, was quick and effortless. On top of that, there's small grassy field just behind the hotel, so tsking your dog for needs in the morning or in the evening isn't a hassle. No garbage can to drop off the bags afterwards on the hotel premices, but I used the ones on the gas station next to it.||+Covers your basic needs, or atleast mine. Got a bed, a fridge, a shower and a tv. Pool and sauna during the evening if you like those. No air conditioning, but we had a table fan, and you can open the window. During our stay, outside temperature was 31 celcius and around 21-25 celcius the next day. So without ac, naturally the rooms were hotter than during a colder period, but didn't find them to be overbearingly hot. Us and the dig slept just fine.||+ The staff is pleasant and helpful. During our earlier stay, we had rented some bikes for the weekend. I didn't think of how to store them beforehand, so I asked if it was ok, to store them inside the hotel ground frloor (we had our room int he second then) and they kindly showed us a place so we could keep them inside.||There's alot of small things that make staying here very effortless for a reasonable price. Alot of these things I've noticed you can't take for granted in every place.||Tldr; would...
Read moreNot as easy to get to as it first appeared - nearby motorway is easy to get on to but a bit more convoluted to get from it to the hotel, so if you’re driving make sure you know the route. If coming from the south just come off the motorway from Turku / Hameenlinna and keep going straight. ||||Easy, free car parking, and petrol station next door.||||Very friendly, but reception closes around 6pm.||||15 minutes or so to walk into town. A few restaurants about 5 minutes walk away.||||Nice big room, with fridge, microwave, iron and coffee, though this was an upgrade from the basic booking. Very comfortable bed. Good blackout curtains to help sleep (probably the best of my whole trip)||||Good sauna and pool – evening only, though pool can be accessed at other times on request.||||Very good breakfast - don't miss the blood sausage, exactly like a good British...
Read moreA clean, spacious double room. The room has a kettle and some tea & instant coffee selection, a spare fridge and even a microwave oven! Never seen that before. Extra points for the free parking. The breakfast was quite versatile, blood sausages as Tampere's speciality were represented! Perhaps vegans would still like something in addition, I don't think there was nothing more than just bread and salad for vegans to have..||||The negative factors were a dog that was barking a bit too often somewhere in the near room, and also woke us up after 6 am. Also the location is somewhat far from the city centre, and I would have liked personnel be there for 24/7. They closed everything down on...
