Casa Nova Maison d'hôtes — Hotel in Ajaccio

This was one of the finest places I have stayed in two months of travel in Europe. It’s made all the finer by the landlady, Lydia, whose warm personality and generosity makes one feel like they live there. She advised me where to go to see the best sites. Also which boat trip to take to see the Scandolo Nature Reserve, a most memorable boat ride, and very informative as well as so beautiful! Lydia directed me to the best restaurant and even called ahead to make sure they had a fish plate for me. Best food I’ve had in a while. And it was right on the beach. One of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen right there in Sagone. They also rent beach chairs and umbrellas and it was delightful. Next, I had some trouble figuring out where I’m going in Europe, specifically Italy, and she helped me work all that out. Her kindness soothed me when I was a little uncertain what I was doing. The pool is amazing, the view is incredible and the rooms are large and immaculate and have their own little patio and seating and Drying rack for your clothes and everything. Breakfast was abundant and delicious and most of the jams and things were made by Lydia from her yard. If I could recommend it any higher, I would. We stayed 3 days in Casa Nova Maison. It was one of the best experience I made in the last years in terms of accommodation. Lydia is a passionate, super motivated and engaged host. She is very supportive and makes breakfast every morning by herself! The house is carefully decorated and full of high quality products. Rooms are very well equipped and maintained. A delightful experience with a warm and generous host. Lydia spent a morning with us with getting calls out to businesses across the island to schedule activities as our French vocabulary was limited. She also suggested many places for us to explore within driving distance and they were all memorable and wonderous journeys along the sea and into the mountains.
